Argentina

What's your definition of a full minor civ?

But no on both counts I guess. Brazil will just be an ordinary civ like the others.

With "full minor civ" i mean a civ like Italy. It can be selected from the scenario menù, but it could not spawn if it's used by the AI.
A "not full minor civ" (or respawn) would be like Mexico or Iran. XD

Ok, cool so they are both going to be minor civs!

Okay. Minor civs in the parlance of the game are those you cannot play or interact with, i.e. the independents, natives, Celts and Seljuks.

I like to call civs whose emergence depends on certain conditions conditional civs.

Why would Argentina be a respawn of the Inca, anyway? That doesn't make any sense. If anything, Peru would make more sense as an Inca respawn, but let's not get into that again.

I was just asking because, seeing how Mexico was dealt with, I didn't think that Argentina would get a better treatment...turns out I was wrong :p

@Leoreth: I know, but some time ago when the new wave of civs was being added people here referred to them as "minor". I guess vocabulary has evolved since then ^_^

Modeling Argentina as a completely new entity is a very good treatment. Treating argentina as an inca respawn would be bad treatment, both cultures have nothing to do with each other, unlike aztecs and mexico.

Also Inca very often survives to 1800. And forcibly collapsing them to spawn Argentina, or Argentina never spawning because the Andes is occupied, are both very weird scenarios.

Latin passion and horses, so did not need to know that.

I'm not sure about that, there's not much in common between Argentina and Uruguay and the rest of Latin America but the football and the language

Not even the football, Peruvian and Bolivian teams suck mayor ass; while Argentinian and Brazilian teams tend to be the best in the continent.

And if you want to get technical, we all speak different forms of Spanish that range from the comical to the "Oh-my-god-please-slow-down" versions. Argentinians in particular have such a distinctive accent and way of speaking... :p

Peruvian UP: Instant Darkness Powder
Your units below 50% Health become invisible to everyone else.

Seriously though, Inca (whose Dynamic Name changes to Peru) performs admirably with its UP in late game and IMO there is no need to change that. What is needed is a modern Peruvian leader to replace Huayna Capac.

I meant the passion for football, not the level
As for the language, the accents are very different, but I think that the weirdest are the Chilean and the Spanish

The Spanish have the weirdest Spanish accent. That makes sense.

Yeah, at very least Huayna needs to be replaced. The current Inca UP is awesome in the late game, it makes cities so productive one would even forget that they are situated in a kinda awful spot.
I believe a new UP is not needed, but should it come to that, make it something related to how throughout Peruvian history when times were dire people always ran to the hills (Iron Maiden reference) and held there. A UP like "The Power of Montoneros (the way historians named guerrillas here)" and make it give +20% Defense while on Peruvian territory provided Units are on hills or forts. And even then, it would suck compared to the current UP....

Clearly, one has never heard a Dominican try to speak Spanish.

Oh man, I did hear them when I went to Dominican Republic... I am not lying when I tell you that the first day at the hotel during my seniors trip I couldn't make a word of what they were saying. I ended up smiling, nodding and switching the conversation to English in hopes that I would actually understand them. :crazyeye:

Didn't the download database have a San Martín LH or am I just imagining things?

Theres a San Martin LH in Civ4Col

Here is my suggestion for Argentina's UP.

Power of the Pampas:

AIs value your trades at double its apparent value.

This will help represent Argentina's export boom, fueled by its beef and grain industry respectively.
Argentina, while it may be considered one of the few countries that fell from a "First World" status to that of a lesser one, needs to be considered in context.
It did have a standard of living comparable to other Western European nations at the time and
competed directly with the United States in food exports, a major source of income for both countries at the time of its relevancy.
That Argentina was an economic powerhouse, and saw the arrival of many European immigrants should be properly represented via the trade-related power.
