As a old player of CIV series for 15 years, I have to say CIV5 is the worst

As I sad before:

the Diplomacy is so bad... No trade for maps, no techs, UNUSEFUL City State request and so on... You can play an entire game without using it.
The Music sucks... No more Medieval or Renaissance music... There is no music immersion like in Civ IV. (And don't understimate this.)
The Wonders are unuseful cause don't give good bonus and they cost like hell.
The Buildings are too expensive and don't deserve the price they costs.
No Spies and No Religion that was a good part of game in Civ IV.
Barbarians overspawn until 2500 A.D. at one hex from your empire with NO SENSE in wood village with assault rifle soldiers and keep attacking you with boring and unuseful attacks.
I.A. sucks.
Promotions with no huge difference like it was in Civ IV.
Units with no huge difference like it was in Civ IV.
City States are pathetic.
Natural Wonders are pathetic, unuseful and boring.
Damage System is not clear when enemy units will survive and your unit too, How long will take for recover healt.
1UPT is not so funny... I mean why not 3/5 UPT? Move units on the map is too damn hard now and the map is full of units everywhere...
Trade stations doesn't grow up using them

Yup, there are good points too (earth units can go in the water faster, pay for buy units, new politics tree and others...)

But maybe we play too much at Civ IV (The best Civ ever) so we expected a CLONE with massive improvements but... wasn't like that in the truth :(

Dude I understand people's legitimate concerns about the game (I myself have quite a lot and i'm not too happy with the game yet, i still like CIV IV a bit more, for now anyway) but what you described is that you want another Civilization IV BTS.

I want to quote Don Drapper here:

"You hate Christmas?"
"No, I don't hate Christmas. I hate THIS Christmas."

You should have read his whole post to the last sentence. That's exactly what he's saying.

And what is wrong with that opinion? For me Civ4 BtS is one of the greatest games I ever played and very close to what I imagine as a perfect Civ. So naturally I wanted Civ5 to be an improved Civ4 and I would've gladly accepted some changes for the fun of it.
Instead Firaxis changed almost literally everything. Some of the changes are aweseome, some are horrible. For me the horrible changes outweigh the positives.

I do enjoy Civ5 - it's a nice little game. But I already know that, barring major changes, I'll go back to Civ4 or even Alpha Centauri quite soon, because for me Civ5 lacks depth. Nothing's wrong with that, right?

Civilization 4 Beyond the Sword is already available. You guys can go play that, and I'll play Civilization 5.

Well played my first 2 hours, wow just gobsmacked, Its so like empire earth with no empire! Its not CIV!
I loved civ4 vanilla it had atmosphere and epicness. This has no feeling of a growing civ to be.
its a FPS with fake feigned diplomacy, weak useless workers and warriors, buildings are mere tokens.
Incredible.
Bargain bin this atrocity now.

I've played 30 hours of CivV, and I am already waiting for a patch or two to come out and address the state that the game is in. I am already losing interest due to figuring out how to easily exploit the AI and game mechanics. The AI is bizarre and terrible, almost crippling. I found myself playing other games when I really shouldn't be. I played Civ III and IV to death upon release, this game isn't up to par with either of them at this point. More content, a large amount of bug fixes, and a revamping of AI both in diplo and war is necessary at this point. I am disappointed.

no one is going to 'patch' this game to make it Civ IV, which is what a select few seem to want. As people have said, this is Civ V, not IV with updated graphics. If you want to play IV, it still exists. No one is making you uninstall it. I happen to love V and there's no way I'm going back to IV. About the AI, let's be real, Civ games have never had the best AI, and I haven't found V's to be any worse than IV's...

Why would you say a selected few want such a patch? Are you serious? If anyone wants cIV he could play it right away, as you happen to mention some lines above as well!! It amazes me the redundancy of your lines.
About the AI, a fellow gamer killed 80 enemy units with only 3 eternal units of his, not loosing a single one of his own, and the worst part is that he alleged he could repeat this situation almost in every game, unless he got very unlucky. And no he wasn't steamrolling lesser advanced civs, he did this in defense. This alone doesn't make for a bad AI, but a broken one. Not only this could almost never happened in cIV but actually it would never had happened in any other civ from I to III either.

Your strawman argument has nothing to do with what I've said. I don't need an apologist telling me to uninstall and give up hope on the game becoming CivIV. I didn't say anything about CivIV in my post other than CivV isn't up to the same standard CivIV was at release. There are fundamental flaws that need to be addressed, sorry if you can't see them. I'm not going to cantankerously argue about this game with you, and if you think voicing negative feedback is a bad thing, you're completely wrong. My concerns are far from unfounded. I have played Civ for years and the idea that you dismiss what your fellow community members have to say with such fallacious discourse is not my concern. If the developers know what is good for them, they will read and consider the complaints people have had about the game thus far.

There are no "apologists" here. None of us are sorry you wanted Civ 4.5, none of us are sorry your panties are in a bunch over Civ 5. Many of us like Civ 5 and look forward to the expansions and mods that will continue to progress the current iteration until the next one comes out.

If you look here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=382765

You'll see that the vast majority if Civ players are very happy with V. And I suspect it's an even greater percentage because complainers usually voice louder than supporters. So yes, only a select few would want such a patch.

This is how I suspect most haters of V's experiences went:

1. Before the game was released, read about V's features and decided it sucked because (insert Civ IV feature here) was removed.

2. Played the demo for five minutes before throwing their hands up in the air and proclaiming "This sucks!".

3. Came to forum to create 1000 "I hate Civ V" threads.

You see, this is exactly what I am talking about. How on earth are you inferring and concluding with such insipid thought? This drivel has nothing to do with my original post.

Put your thesaurus away, braniac, and don't play dumb. You called him an apologist, which is what I addressed.
