I think that a Three Kingdoms/Japan scenario might be too limited. Then again a small number of players might be appealing. What do you think. I have wanted to do a Chinese Three Kingdoms game for quite some time. Here are some thoughts on the participants for such a game:
Korean Tech Tree Path:
---------------------
Silla (Korea)
Baekje (Korea)
Gokuryeo (Korea)
Kaya (Korea)
Chinese Tech Tree Path:
----------------------
Wu (China)
Shu (China)
Wei (China)
Japanese Tech Tree Path:
-----------------------
Yamato (West)
Yamato (East)
Some scholars believe that the Yamato state was not yet unified at this time.
Other possible players (perhaps AI only)
---------------------------
Champa (Vietnam)
Funan (Cambodia)
Tibetans
Northern Nomads (could be just barbarians)
Ainu (could be just barbarians)
Formosans (could be just barbarians)
Phillipines (could be just barbarians)
Either Japan-Korea or All East Asia would be fun to play. It's time there was a good Asia scenario - something in thought and quality similar to the scenarios produced by Plotinus. The Sengoku scenario is a fun game but very poor history. I think the controlling factor is the map. There don't seem to be any good ones; the ones that exist are either too big or too small in terms of area covered. Also, new wonders, new techs, and a few (not too many) new units.

What do you think?
