Maxim Isayev walked around Washington DC and everything irritated him. This stupid red wig, new suite instead of Standartenfuehrer uniform and that he must speak English for another 4 years.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has pulled the trigger on the early stages of a plot to retain his iron grip over the country well after his term expires in 2024, in a day of dramatic political turmoil.
In a shock announcement, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced his government would resign, allowing Putin to appoint a new administration just as he proposes major constitutional changes that could set the controversial leader up for an enduring rule over Russia and the international arena.
The Kremlin swiftly revealed tax commissioner Mikhail Mishustin - a virtual unknown in Russia - would be installed as prime minister.
Putin proposed a suite of constitutional changes that would crimp the authority of future presidents in favour of placing more power in the hands of prime ministers and parliaments.
Some of the proposed changes include limiting future presidents to a maximum of two total terms in office, strengthening the State Council advisory body, and letting the parliament choose prime ministerial and cabinet candidates instead of the president.
The resignation gave Putin the power to appoint a new prime minister who may then go on to become president post-2024 but in a much diminished position of authority. At the end of his presidential term, Putin could then become prime minister

KGB was respected. FSB is not.FSB has the reputation of repackaged slightly nicer KGB. Some of the dirty work in Russia guess who probably does it?
Come on, this naiveté is unbecoming of you. Leaving the office of president does not mean giving up control over the country."Russian President Vladimir Putin has pulled the trigger on the early stages of a plot to retain his iron grip over the country"
"Some of the proposed changes include limiting future presidents to a maximum of two total terms in office"
Sounds like the changes he proposes will ensure that he leaves at the end of this term.
I doubt it.Especially when the new constitution leaves the president as a mere figurehead.
