I've actually never had "treatment" for my condition, unless one counts therapy sessions when I was 5-8 years old. And I've never taken medication for Aspergers either.

Kind of. I had to go to the hospital many times until they said they couldn't do anything more.

No, defenitly not! But I don't know about other Aspergers...

I wasn't. I ended up failing all the subjects I did at school.

My GPA dropped from 3.310 to 3.268 this semester! 
I was considered by most to be the brightest person in the class and the school - that's with different schools, too. However, I was never the best as far as actual grades go. In those silly drawing/art classes, I was horrible - either failed them or got the lowest pass grade every year. After elementary school, when the subjects started becoming somewhat diverse, I have always had somewhat low grades in subjects I wasn't interested in. Students with the best grades put some effort into all subjects, I completely ignored the ones I didn't like.

Depends on the subject. In languages and subjects such as History and Social Studies, I get very good grades with almost no effort on my part. I'm almost the only one to raise my hand to answer when a teacher, of a subject I'm intrested in, asks a question.
On the other hand. Subjects, which I couldn't care less for, such as math, I'm always on the verge of failing in my exams and I rarely do anything in class. Why? Math simply doesn't intrest me at all, and as such I can't get myself motivated to do anything about my lousy math grades. Physics and Chemistry however are subjects where I pass relatively easily, which I find quite odd, since I'm not that intrested in them either.
That's eerily familiar....

So you do good in what interests you and you put no effort into what doesent interest you?
Really, who isn't like that? Although with Asperger's it seems to be more pronounced than in a 'normal' person.
I have a son with Asperger's, and a son without. They both have motivational problems with things they don't like. The Asperger's son is a bit more, well, stubborn, about it tho.

One trait of Asperger's, uhm, Type, which I henceforth refuse to call syndrome, is great difficulty with putting effort into something that doesn't interest the person. Personally, I can do some task I find interesting for hours at a time. If I think of some computer algorithm I'd like to test, I can get to coding it and only think about it until I see what I want. On the other hand, the worst job I can imagine is a job I find boring. I simply couldn't do it.
Even when I force myself to do something I don't find interesting, I don't do that thing good. It feels as if most of my brain shuts off and I become less smart, with a worse memory and concentration while trying to do that thing.
I can imagine it can be a real pain for Asperger's type folks who have trouble finding a job or a field of study that genuinely interests them.

Well, I was wondering if the people with Aspergers here were the smart person in the class because one trait of Aspergers is above-average intelligence. 
Well, as stated, they excel in what interests them. So they may not be the 'smartest', but certainly smart in their areas that interest them.
My son, for instance, horrible at Math. But I bet he could give you a play-by-play of WW2. So, in one sense, he's the 'smartest' where it comes to history. But across the board? Well....
