Ask an Asperger

Well, as stated, they excel in what interests them. So they may not be the 'smartest', but certainly smart in their areas that interest them.

Which is why it's especially important for an Asperger-person to find a job that intrests them. Unlike some people, I can't imagine myself managing to do a job for +40 years, even if the pay is good. I've been suggested that I should graduate as an English (and, possibly, Swedish) teacher after University, which is actually what I have had in mind.

I've chosen that regardless of the fact that the salary of a teacher in Finland is not great, I choose it because that's what I can see myself doing for a living, until I retire.

Smartness != knowledge

Asperger's type people are smarter than most others. They have intelligence ranging from above-average to excellent, and intelligence is a global thing. You can't be intelligent / smart in one area and not in another.

You can be very knowledgeable in one area and not others, but if you're smart, you're smart.

If you enjoy knowing about other people's feelings and their problems and resolving them, then yes. It's what interests you, the good pay is a bonus. :)

I have a question for other aspergers people like myself:

Do you not like listening to most types of music like i dont like?

I dont like rock, pop, rap, country or any of that crap. I wonder if aspergers has anything to do with it?

Nah, cuz my kid loves all kinds. Country, rock, rap.

Probably just your personal tastes with that one.

Swedishguy based off of the advice you have given on this board I would say NO.
