Ask An Atlanteologist

Dendara Light bulb.
Looks like a feather to me.

So how do I know that they had lights that don't turn off? I read a story of a group of Navy Seals that found Atlantis during the Bay of Pigs operation, and they were sent to clean up the underwater city to prevent the Russians from getting any Tech. What they picked up is stored away in a warehouse. Probably 'Warehouse 23.'
Got a reputable link for this?

I listened to a radio show about Lights that don't turn off in New Zealand. I listened to engineers talking about the Great Pyramids how they had electric lights in them, 3000 years before they were invented.
Ainwood lives in New Zealand and understands engineering. We should ask him about this.

No, I prefer seeing artifacts and ruins and deciding for myself. I like mythology/religion and Ancient Aliens combines it all and I dont have to buy decades of NatGeo magazines for a relatively few photographs. And I'd bet big $$$ I've spent more time reading thru anthropology journals than you, my library is loaded with books and magazines on the subject.

Why are you so unpleasant?

Berzerker, I majored in anthropology and archaeology, minored in physical & cultural geography, and had a generous helping of classical history, astronomy, and have read the Old Testament. Don't try to imply that I don't know what I'm talking about.

There is no evidence whatsoever for "ancient aliens."

I did not answer your question because I thought I had answered it previously.
That's it?

Ok, so now we've established the kind of evidence you need to make such claims.

As for the Theory of Evolution:

I watch Walking with Cavemen every once in a while.
That would explain all those missconceptions you have about the Theory of Evolution.

In other words, you hardly are familiar with the Theory of Evolution, but you're ready to dismiss the enourmous amount of evidence which supports it. On the other hand you are ready to make claims on circumstantial hearsay with absolute confidence.

Not very convincing I'm afraid.

The thing here is, you've got a theory which you want to be true, you'll reject anything that goes against that theory, and you see evidence were there is none to support it. Kind of ironic you once asked Valka: "Do you have an open heart and mind? Both are needed. I can provide you with a lot of evidence."

And in the future, don't insult those who worked hard to get a doctorate degree with claiming you have "knowledge equivalent to a doctorate of the field." by reading a little fiction thinking it's science.

Re the theory of evolution, it should be noted that inherently it is unstable due to ultimately the backing of it expanding from one side to the depth of prehistory, on the other to the distant millenia in the future where supposedly there would be somewhat observable new evolutionary stages.

So it's not like we can verify either of those. It shouldn't be seen as a religion and dogma-like, which is in my view what happens if the foundations of it are misleadingly argued to be more solid.

No theory is to be maintained more than the time it takes to come up with a more scientific alteration or very different theory. I am not of the view that this has changed by now either.

I have to say - that's it?? That sort of half-baked "evidence" is similar to someone (who had zero knowledge of Christianity) going into various churches and blithely announcing that they worship the Sun, because all the church altars point east.

Precidictions have been made about what kind of fossils would be found in geographical layers.

New evolutionary stages have been observed.

It's more stable than the Theory of Gravity which has a lot more gaps in understanding.

I must say I'm pretty underwhelmed by all the evidence for Atlantis. I had hoped for more.

I'm beginning to think it's all been made up by Atlanteologists themselves.

Ah. Now. A question: has it all been made up by Atlanteologists?

I googled this Dendra light. Wiki:
The view of Egyptologists is that the relief is a mythological depiction of a djed pillar and a lotus flower, spawning a snake within, representing aspects of Egyptian mythology.[1][2] The Djed pillar is a symbol of stability which is also interpreted as the backbone of the god Osiris. In the carvings the four horizontal lines forming the capital of the djed are supplemented by human arms stretching out, as if the djed were a backbone. The arms hold up the snake within the lotus flower. The snakes coming from the lotus symbolize fertility, linked to the annual Nile flood.

Why is the view that this is a light superior to the mainstream interpretation?

Because it looks a bit like an electric light bulb? Provided you squint your eyes and take a leap of imagination, that is.

I don't need convincing.

(It could be a light bulb filament in the shape of a snake, though.)

And look at the relative sizes of the people. Eyptians were either gigantic or dwarves. Apparently.

The Djed pillar does look a bit like a bayonet fitting on a light bulb though.
