With regards to what the numbers mean, while they are ultimately just numbers, Wikipedia prescribes there to be roughly seven areas of economic integration:

Preferential trading area
Free trade area,
Customs union,
Common market
Economic union,
Economic and monetary union
Complete economic integration

When agreements are bilateral I'd presume a 2 represents little more than a free trade area, but with larger groups it could very well be thought of as going all the way to economic and monetary union (i.e. more along the lines of the EU).

In particular, we are invested with extensive political capital that would aid the alliance in achieving harmonious diplomacy within the Persian Gulf, North Africa, and various states abroad. Additionally, our control of a major commercial shipping route would translate into sizable alliance-wide economic power.

The Cape Commonwealth is risking dragging multiple nations into a war none of them truly desire in order to continue its practices of near-slavery (paying blacks a minimal amount of money, barely enough to survive) and apartheid segregation. The whites have ruled for over two hundred years, and it is time for change. The simplest solution is for them to pack up and leave - Zulu would even offer fair compensation for purchasing their land at this point, even though it is stolen. We do not wish any individual white harm, but their institution is a bloated, corrupt one that must be abolished.

So this is why I propose the Free Arctic Group. In it is a guarantee of free trade among the member states and support for the united defence of the member states against outside threats. What do you say?

In Orostratian politics, there are four major parties. The Young Worker's Party of Orostratia (YWPO), the Flame of Orostratia (FoO), the Liberals, and the United Republicans.

YWPO – This party, usually populated by earth elementalists, is a party comprised of what one would consider socialists. It enjoys great popularity amongst the lower class, especially in the northern, industrialized region of Orostratia. They are rabidly anti-military, and instead tend to focus on things like education, welfare, and worker's rights.

Flame of Orostratia – Warhawks. They greatly desire the expansion of Orostratian military, influence, and borders throughout all corners of the globe, and spend as much money as possible on the army, navy, and air force. Other than the military, they are extremely lax on economic control and thus are popular amongst upper class industrialists, soldiers, and nationalists.

Liberal Party – The liberal party believes in a small, weak central government with low taxes, low spending, and as few tariffs as possible. Most of the population of the Liberal Party is merchants along the Gulf, air elementalists, and poor farmers in the southern part of the nation. There is almost no liberal party presence in the industrialized north, where it is mostly United Republicans, YWPO, or nationalists.

United Republicans – Middle of the road. The United Republicans are the current ruling party, focusing on long term improvements, extensive diplomatic ties to ensure the safety and prosperity of the nation, and a strong navy to enforce the will of Orostratia across the globe.

In the early 20th century, the Zulu Kingdom broke apart, and in the fiery aftermath, a democracy was born. Zulu politics are currently dominated by the Ishlangu Party, which is actually led by the descendants of Shaka himself. The Ishlangus wish to peacefully reunite with their sister tribes once again, rebuilding their ancestor's empire and shielding Southern Africa from foreign interests. The Iklwa Party, their strongest contender, shares their blood ties, but favors a more militaristic approach to the ultimate Ishlangu goal. Both parties favor a somewhat federalist government.

Norway and Archangel, our advisement is that you avoid any alliance entanglements outside of Liberum Solis; after all, all it could do is drag your countries into wars since all the protection you need is afforded by the superior military of the Solan Republic as well as your fellow member states of Liberum Solis. However we of course encourage you to seek out NAPs and conduct your own trading policies to your own satisfaction. Free Trade is one of the major pillars of Liberum Solis after all.

Since we all share a common culture, India would like to propose the creation of a South Asian Alliance. The alliance will be a defensive one, but it will also include open borders and economic co-operation. The decisions of the alliance will be made by the South Asian Assemply, in which all nations send 1 representive and have 1 vote. What do you think about it?
