Bending Art: Earthbending
History: For many years, the various tribes of Kashmir have been mistreated by various masters; the Afghans, the Sikhs, the Hindus. When the War of Three Hours brought about the collapse of most world governments, the Rajas who were left clamped down even harder, taking advanced weaponry from former European outposts to assert their power. However, they failed to contend with one thing: the Benders. Many tribes soon discovered that some of their number possessed the ability to manipulate the earth. One such man, Ali Karim, saw this as a gift from Allah, an set off on a campaign to unite the tribes of Kashmir. For over four years, Islamic revolutionaries battled their Hindu overlords, pushing them out of the region. With Kashmir finally free, Ali established The Free Kingdom of Kashmir. Now, several centuries and dynasty changes later, the new King Abdullah Amirmoez has risen to the thrown, poised to usher forth a new chapter in history for the tiny nation.

Government: Absolute Monarchy
Ruler: Emporor Fudo
Religion: Death Worship
Social Policy: Highly Conservative
Foreign Policy: Imperialistic
Bending Art: Fire
History: After the Times of Darkness, the island of Hokkaido split into warring states and kingdoms. For awhile, it seemed they would never unite, however all that changed the brilliant lord of Sapporo only known as Fudo fought several wars and eventually united the island. Soon after, he launched an invasion of Northern Japan, and had some success. Now he has proclaimed himself the absolute ruler of all of Japan, and will not stop marching south until the old imperial capital is under his command.

The people of the Empire are ruled through fear, and they have an intense devotion to their leader. They do not question when people are shot in the middle of the streets for being enemies of the empire by the Scorched Guards or when the emperor burns down and entire village as a display of his power. They only know to fight for the emperor and the Unification of Japan under his rule, and it is considered great to die for it.

Looks like I'm going to have to change. I'm not going to get myself involved with a early war .

The Gleaming Conclave of the Order of the Flaming Sun

Flag of the Ever Burning Word.png

Art: fire bending

Government: Theocracy with the leader being elected for life by other priests.

Ruler: Sun Guider Nergüi the Willing, High Priest of the Solar Way.

The Palace of Government: The Eternally Shining Temple of the Flaming Sun.

Capital: Gulgin, marked on the claim map via the dark star.
Other major cities: Doron, Dol-Chin Bay, Gelmerzhe, Inängä and Xesun.

Religion: The order itself follows its own sun cult: the Solar Way. Out of the quarter of the population that do not follow this, half are Buddhists, a quarter is Taoist and the rest are made up of different religious groups.

Economy: Merchantilism, with religious directed regulations.

Military: although the Sun Guider is declared officially a pacifist during their acceptance of power, many holy military groups are within the land of the Gleaming Order. Groups include the Solar Blades, the Craw of the Phoenix, the Holy Tigers and the Burning Wave.

People: mainly made up of the Manchu.

History: the Order claims that the Solar Way was founded before the Dark Age but historical evidence of the Solar Way dates at the dawn of the appearance of fire bending in the northern most reached of Siberia, linked to the life meaning of fire during the harsh winters. The Solar Way, teaching values of warmth and community above the chaotic coldness of darkness, began to migrate from the small migrant tribes of Siberia to the most eastern northern cost. The teaching slowly slid till it a figure known only as the Word of the Flame created the Solar Order of the Holy Community. This order though took up isolation in distrust of outside forces. They remained small in number, focusing on within. They got distrustful of the within a century ago when a group of priests demanded to follow a different feel of politics that was of diplomatic openness... and expansionism via conversion. This lead to a conflict that ended with this group’s exile south from the isolated order.

The group of exiled priests travelled till they reach the humble settlement of Doron. There the priests preached and eventually attracted further followers. They eventually founded their own holy city of Gulgin and set up the Order of the Flaming Sun. Setting up the temple and structure, it would be Zhi the Wise who would be the main finder of the organisation and its first high priest: the Sun Guider. Eventually they gained over the societies in their new found homeland and so it was the order that forged eventually a single society, aided with the gift of fire bending. Now Nergüi seeks to spread the holy word of the Solar Way. He also seeks to demonstrate that expansion is the way of the most holy, in face of the small isolated Holy Community back north.

Claims for the cradel of the order are below

IOT7. Christos (who played Japan) claimed that China was nothing more than Mainland Japan.

He was also invaded no less than three times.

I wonder why so many people are choosing Firebending.
My take is the popularity of the Fire Nation with their big ironclad warships.

I wonder why so many people are choosing Firebending.

Because it has the best bonus for early game expansion and they have the second best bonus.

The attack bonus of Firebenders is checked by the defense bonus of Earthbenders but because FBs have cheaper ARMY tech, a Firebender nation has an advantage in that they're attacking with superior numbers AND superior army technology.

Actually, Airbenders and Waterbenders have a pretty good bonus as well. Earthbenders maybe should get their defensive bonus boosted a bit to remain competitive or switch the Earthbender's Land Tech cheapness with Firebender's Cheap Armies (to reflect that the Earth Nation had a large population and defense while Firebenders were excellent fighters and had a decent logistical train compared to the other nations).
