After seeing the trailers I cant agree with this.

Come on you can't tell me that looks good.

I'm going to go and see it, just to see how it looks. I have no expectations about the plot, so it doesn't matter if it's bad. And with no expectations it probably won't even be that bad.

I wonder what is the ideal day to avoid masses, but to see it on the big screen...

I have heard the first 90 minutes rock out as a visual and adventure roller coaster ride, then drops of a cliff into preachy nonsensical Iraq comparisons that make even the stauchest lefty go WTH?

I will be going for the first 90 minutes :D

How? The aliens aren't even furry. If they want to get furries, they're doing a rather poor job of it. They look more like fish to me.

The trailer made it seem like one of the worst movies I have ever seen (assuming I'm seeing it, which has a probability of around 2%, according to the most recent estimates provided by my official inner polling station).

I'm seeing it tomorrow (in IMAX 3-D). Though I was a bit surprised that it wasn't sold out when I bought the tickets for it, 2 weeks ago.

If a nice girl mentions she'd like to go see it, I assume your official inner polling station will increase the probability estimate to around 99.9% ;)

From what I could tell from the trailer I saw, the "good guys" were invading a planet and taking land away from space Indians.

There must have been a leak in our security - you can not possibly know the deepest secrets of my inner polling station!

....

Unless, of course... you.... erm... hmm... are me! Oh my Goooood!! Get away, dirty impostor!!!!

There is one piece of info that you missed though - a nice girl has to mention it, and there must be more than 10 euros in my pocket the moment this happens, or in the next few days. You know, the second part is not a given, me being a foreign student in a much richer and more expensive country than my native one. ;)

Actually it was definitely nice girls that made me see most of the terrible movies I've seen. This way, I'm not actually wasting time of my life seeing them, I have something to compare the good ones to, and to analyze, and I'm not feeling awkward if the subject "movies" comes up in a conversation and most of the people around me have only heard of the biggest blockbusters in the last 10 years.

Actually, its only redeeming quality that I could see is the fact that it seemed pretty clear to me that the humans were the "bad" guys...

I was gonna start this thread, until Pete Atoms advised me otherwise. Anyhow, I definitely plan to see this, hopefully at a matinée tomorrow, if I can get somebody to go with me. The visuals, IMO, look really cool, although there are a couple of parts (based on the trailers) where they seem a tad on the unrealistic side, but still great as far as CGI goes. As for the plot, I have no doubt it will be simple, and these will draw comparisons to other films with similar simple plots, like Dances with Wolves. Nevertheless, I'd rather have a simple plot told very well than a deep plot told mehly, and I expect the former we'll be what we get.

From what I heard the main target audience of the film is furries.
A furry in denial at my school is going nuts over it he so wants to see it

I might see it in Mississauga the home of IMAX
