I hope the rest of mankind is going senile as fast as I am.

Wut? Faster. Much faster.

The thing is, though, you do tend to get happier. All that angsty stuff of your twenties and thirties is long, long gone in my case.

Now, how did these yellowish stains appear, again? I've really not a clue.

Hmm. They taste a bit strange as well, when I suck them. Kind of salty. Niff a bit, too.

I reckon I have a higher IQ than the majority of people in my country as a whole.
On this forum I'm probably below average. In contrast to the rest of the world the number of people here who have completed post-graduate degrees, work in research and so on is far greater. Nerds.

My favourite IQ test was the one that went on forever, eventually repeating questions, and the sooner you figured out what was going on, the higher a score it gave you.

But if it went on forever that means you must be still taking it now?

No. Wait. Let me be reasonable for once: you mean it went on for a very long time.

Spoiler :
Orthoepea just means using the correct/specific term for each claim. It was a main point of some notable sophists.

No, I literally mean the test goes on forever, until the test-taker realises the same questions are repeating over and quits. It gives you a score based on how long it took you to comprehend that the 'test' was a trick.

Ah right! I see now. After re-reading your original post.

Silly me! I'd never be any good at any IQ test. I'd still be stuck doing that one, thinking I was cranking up a really good score.

Or Mr. B, here's where your laziness would serve you. You might get the highest score of all by quitting even before the questions started repeating.

In fact, I've got a score of infinity on shadowplay's IQ test for never even having started it in the first place!

For myself, I have a base animal cunning that the exams don't even test for. They give me no credit for the incisiveness of my mind, nor demerit for its lack of retentiveness. I'm not rewarded for my ability to think outside the box, then ask whether that outside has an outside. I'm not penalized for how slowly I absorb information, or even my cultivated opacity. I am curious only by fits and starts. I am largely unencumbered by cant. I am both served and crippled by ironic detachment. But none of these things register one way or another in the score. Set aside things like EQ and motivation; I don't think IQ tests measure intellectual capabilities with much nuance.

I know enough to know, however, that I am less intelligent than the poster above me.

(But way more intelligent than the one due to post next.)

Ha!

Nay! You're very, very smart alright, Mr Grey. I've always thought so.

And now you're both way smarter and less smart than I am?

(You saw this coming, I'll bet.)

Drat! It never so much as occurred to me that you might be the next poster, thus making utter logical nonsense of my claims.

How could I not have anticipated that?

How dense can I be?

I'll not count myself unlucky as long as I have access to a discussion forum where someone shares my zany sense of humor.

I thought our IQ scores were that little number next to "posts" under our name.
