I remember my IQ being similar to what MobBoss reported the last time around. Makes sense, we're both very wise.

It was around 135-140 IIRC, but.. you know.. take that with a grain of salt.. or a whole saltshaker .. you might as well, IQ tests aren't very accurate.

Just read a little of Daniel Goleman book, even though I'm not a professional psychologist but it is pretty much my under-graduate study. It is possible to measure EQ of someone, one should define it and make a list of aspects about it and form a test tools in reference to these aspect. However the problem is that, as many problem also could be found when one already found the aim and the reason of any psychological test, is peoples keen to faking good about their test.

Intelligence is not less abstract than emotion, imho, both are immaterial and can be only measure by looking at the symptom. However the exact concrete definition of intelligence and emotion, that is not too specific and board enough to include all of the aspect is a tough things to do. But I might be wrong in this.

Iq test is pretty much regard human as a machine the quality is determined by how much can it produce in specific amount of time and how accurate is the result. Imho it is pretty much a product of industrial society.

IQ is a bad test but I'd hazard to guess I'd get 115-125

Took one based on math/logical only at like age of 15, got 130-140 range.

Took one based on all kinds of intelligence (i'm a painter/writer/dancer more than a programmer, although i do it all) at age of 25, got something like 160 IQ. I'm pretty dumb compared to girls in neuroscience and engineering imho.

Both were issued and checked by psychologists in written form, not online.

I have done mensa tests, but haven't joined Mensa myself.

However, i'm at the point where i desperately need company of very gifted males for serious talking about physics/math/science or otherwise the daily girly "nail polish" rubbish drives me mad.

I did take a mensa-entry IQ test online, but years ago (iirc 5 years ago). I think i scored just south of the entry mark (something like 140). But the test was meant for english native speakers and a number of the questions were idiom-centered, it was also timed and i had to google terms all along.

The math stuff was often harder for me, at least then, but back then i had less interest in formal math, and also was very depressed.

However i am not tempted to take more such tests. Some poster in the TW forums claimed he is a mensa member, and that their forum is boring stuff about riddles and self-pity/social awkwardness etc. So i'd rather pass

There really ought to be a test for laziness.

Otherwise someone scoring low on an IQ test might not be dumb, but just too idle to answer the questions.

A lot of it is about motivation, imo. So, perhaps all tests should be carried out at gun-point. And if you get an answer wrong, you also get the bullet.

(I'm surprised how well this thread has followed through. I rather thought it was unworkable, at first.)

I took an IQ test last year and I got 90!!! That's better than any exam mark I've ever had Some guy thought he got an IQ of 113 lol, he's so dumb, you can't get over 100% on a test!!!

no, I am afraid you are mistaken. 113 does not mean 113%.People can score over 100 since the average people score around 100.
