Aztecs

Aren't you worried that will encourage aztec players to settle AWAY from fresh water, so they can build both?

Far better, I think, to block aztec from building wells, so that they don't have incentive to settle 1 tile away from rivers/lakes, instead of on them

Can the Floating Gardens receive extra benefits if they're located beside fresh water? That plus bath would shift the incentive back to fresh-water-adjacent cities.

Sounds like new code. Simply disabling wells for Aztec is less work.

Having a unique building break mutually exclusive building groups is also new a new mechanic for base VP.

I want to play a game of stacking wells and FGs now. :O

For now, the 4UC mod has a unique well replacement for the Shoshone which allows this.

If wells/FG are unstacked, then we will have to take another look at the 4UC's Egyptian UB, which is also a watermill replacement. Being unstacked from well is a pretty significant buff.

Is it simply possible to make the FB replace both watermill and well? That seems the simplest way to go.

The simplest of all possible solutions, yes. Simply have the floating garden replace one in the civilization_override_buildingclass, and then create another civilization override, but leave it blank.

In other words, make base water mill be replaced by FG, then make well be replaced by nothing.

VP already does this with chanceries and other Diplo buildings for city-states, as a way of preventing them from building Diplo structures they can’t use.

Sorry not being clear- Aztecs shouldn’t be able to construct the well

About buffing UA, @Gazebo the more they deal damage the more they heal?

the more they deal damage the more they heal?

How about we remove Jaguar and give Aztecs an unique Great Prophet Joseph Smith that gives you access to free Legions and Ballistas?

Linear functions are not really that complex ;) Like, currently, the more a unit have health, the more it deals damage.

Sure, because heal from kill from Authority is entirely different and much more realistic, right? :p

I had the same first reaction as Gazebo. To me, it's not that it's hard to understand the idea but rather that I foresee increased complexity in making combat decisions. Which is bad for the AI and slows down the player. Combat has enough depth already imo.

Hmm, yeah, you're right. It doesn't need to be more complex. I still like the idea if all melee units heal on kill, like Jaguars, but maybe less.

Me too, that was what i proposed a bit earlier. Even 5 HP will be a noticeable buff. 10 HP i'm afraid will be too much

5 HP on kill only is almost worthless, it won't affect my decision making in the slightest. If killing an unit puts you in a dangerous situation, it still makes the same end result in most of the cases. 10 HP is where it starts mattering and it probably won't be too much considering each Japanese promo that affects all land melee gets +10 HP per kill, +%CS based on HP and a third bonus, but to be honest I'd prefer something else. It just seems like such a boring solution.
