Germany Divided, and Broken - Treaty of Territorial Cooperation

It was decided Monday that in fact, the allied powers are dividing the country to help qwell any uprising in the near future and any kind of Nazi support. The newly appointed Federal Government is now in place, and beginning to take control of her borders. It is unknown at this point when the deployed troops from the Allies will be leaving, but at this point looks like until the government appointed is ready, the allies are willing to help keep peace while the country is disarmed.

France demands War Reparations

France, the land hungry, newly given back control of their country is demanding a piece of the pie. They are asking for a stretch of “French” land near their borders of German soil in an attempt to appease their pain and suffering. The German Government denounces this loose claim, and will goto arbitration from the allied powers still in control of that land. Unfortunately for Germany, they have little say in this matter, no matter how greedy it seems. Also to be noted they are beginning plans to stay in their controlled providence per they treaty of territorial cooperation until it seems their demands are met. This is a very trying time for the German people.

USSR and Egypt

The soviets and Egypt enter a tenuous agreement of friendship this year, proclaiming a start to possible calming of the middle east.

Cuba becomes a chain smoker of fine Cigars

The Cuban Isles form under one banner in the worldscape this year, annexing the Dominican and Haiti to their ranks. The now multicultural, multilingual country has some milestones behind them, and a bright future ahead. Their newly appointed president, had this to say to the world;

The government of Cuba would like to announce the peaceful integration of all nations that had once stood on their own in the Caribbean. Also our President Ramón Grau would like to request economic support from other Nations to help developed infrastructure and increase the standard of living in our nation.

He speaks in the 3rd person, interesting trait to keep attention on in the coming years.

Oh whoray, I'm on the map now. Stats please?

Breakdown of control in Germany

Good update... Shouldn't I own the Eastern Bloc?

Also, until Commonwealth nations are picked up, are they NPC'd, or can I command/control them directly? Would be nice to know for future orders.

you do not "own" any theater of Germany. the 4 of you control those 4, yes, but there is an installed government (omega) that I am putting on the map. you do in fact control those areas, however, and i haven't put on there yet how i am going to demark that, and if it only lasts 1 more turn (2-3 years) i won't change it unless France decides to get its groove on and stay.

Side note i hate photobucket, its making this map ridiculously too small for you to see anything, i need a better way to store images so we can get a beefy map and see it's goodies.

you control all the commonwealth tell me which ones you do not have colored on the map and i will update the map.

Understood. There was some confusion on that matter, I'm glad to see Omega got the regional government.

Until someone picks up a Commonwealth nation, can we put it directly under my control or focus on NPCing it? I'm still kind of gray on how that's working.

ok i just thought of something, anything white is me. They are NPC controlled until someone takes them over, or comes in with a new country.

These nations for our purposes are weak, and really resistance will be slim. however i do not want a colonization of the world just yet, we will get to coloring it soon enough. get creative like i did with Cuba.

you're confusing me now are you talking about any white nation or the United Kingdom?

to comment on the practicality of the map, the reason i like this map is it's broken up into quadrants on areas heavily traffic'd by war, making movement of the war easy for us to track. because it is so small I really can't show you til i fix that problem.

Whoray I have stats!

Egypt

General Amil Savlah was an aggressive expansionist, who believed only in the brute force of his military and would use this tool to further his power. When given power over the government by the Prime Minister, he was approached by both the USA and the USSR... He signed alliances with both.

He told his cabinet "Egypt's been backward for far too long. We must make ourselves strong, if we are to shake our dependence from the west. We must expand and take control over natural resources that the west will need in order for us to be taken seriously. When we crush communism, we will call on the help of the USA. When we crush democracy, we will call on the help of the USSR. Egypt will be neither's puppet."

He then set about giving his army the much needed rest. They had served the British in WW2, and gained nothing for their effort. No wonder the British haven't sent an emissary asking for friendship or cooperation... They are ashamed for not paying the Egyptians back for the blood they spilled in the name of the UK.

The Unification

The second World War had ended only a year ago. The Caribbean had been unaffected physically by the war, but it had been turned upside down politically. None of the nations predicted what was to occur in the next year. The President of Cuba Ramón Grau suggested in an international conference at the end of the year that all of the Caribbean nations unite with the same rights of the Cuban nation but the first government term would be controlled by the Cuban government that was currently in office. At first the other nations were hesitant especially the island nations at the very edge of the Caribbean such as Antigua, Barbados, and Trinidad&Tobago. They questioned if Cuba would make an effort to protect them from annexation by other nations. The Cuban government then was unsure if it would be cost effective to guarantee their independence if they would have to devote most of their navy to patrol their waters. Finally after democratic vote between the ministers and the President it was decided that the cost would be worth the long term pay off.

With all nations then agreeing on unification they began to write up a constitution for the new state. The constitution created a government with an Executive Branch, a Three house Legislature, and a Judiciary Branch. The Three House Legislature is made of one house based on one house has one member from each state like the senate in the U.S.A and another based on the house of representatives and the final third house contains two appointed individuals by the governor of each administrative area with full rights currently recognized by the Executive and Judiciary Branches of the government. After the founding of the government a series of reforms to the military were placed in their goal being the modernization of the military and increase in efficiency to reduce the cost of guarding the now much larger area. Also economic reforms to reduce the gap between rich and poor have been created while also a peaceful diplomatic stance has been taken in hoping of gaining funding for such reforms. The most amazing part considered by the citizens is the pace of these changes since the beginning of December in 1945 to the 1st day of 1946 on which the grandest parades in the history of the region took place to commemorate the new national holiday Unification Day.
