Most northern European countries collect data on race and religion too. The UK certainly does, but it's not alone (the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, etc all do too). I think only the heavily French-influenced countries don't (so the Latin ones plus Belgium and maybe a couple others).I think it is that way in all EU countries. It is forbidden to collect data about race as it is about religion, ideology, sexual orientation and any other purely personal condition. I find it amazing that racial data is collected in USA census. What is officially the finality of such question?
