I plan on making some major upgrades to allow this old computer to last for another four years, what hardware would improve folding?

Processor/memory appear to be the only two bits of hardware (three, if you include the motherboard itself) that affect folding speed according to the documentation, and based on what I've done comparing goldfish and elephant machines, more memory doesn't necessarily make any difference.

the only way i can see that happening is if we get every member of cfc to become part of the program.

Holy smokes, the numbers of team CFC are amazing. Wow. I can't believe how quickly this has grown. I guess that's what happens when you recruit a bunch of people who have computers AND tend to think in terms of research progress (because of CIV)

It also probably helps to have it on almost everyone's signature too, advertising on the civ4 and OT forums, where almost everyone is really helps I suspect.

I can do a helluva calculation, but sadly a blackhole computer can only do one.
