Civ 4 doesn't work with Folding@Home >(

But I'm just about to get 2 WUs now...not much, but my PC isn't really on that often.

folding runs while i have civ4 on, might explain the slowness though.

Furiey does civ4 work for you now, without the being able to see everything???

No help for you until you resume folding!! :nono:

I never had problems folding while playing Civ and the folding is at normal speed since the repair job. The current WU has yet to cause a application error since the last was completed. It might be better than before.

The team in 100th place has 194 active CPU's. We have 119 active CPU's. We need to up out number so we can big on the big team page!

When playing Civ4 just go to the Configure > Advanced tab and move the CPU Usage slider to the left a bit and it will turn down the folding activity. Just remember to move it back to the right to 100% when you're done.

I've never had any problems running folding when also running other high demand programs as the folding seems to run at a very low priority in the background and yields to the other processes as needed.

I got up to 4 but I've decided to give my cpu fans a little rest. I was burning @ >85% (and for a while @100%) for 4 months and while I don't care if my work computer crashes, I'll have to replace my home comp. So I'll start things up again after a short hiatus

The same trick of course applies for you. If anyone has an older system that maybe the fan is starting to make some noise and may be nearing death just turn the usage slider way down on that system and you can still fold a little bit at least without running full bore and generating a bunch of extra heat that needs blown out.

I run folding on my laptop and if I run it in a hot environment (I'm in Vegas) I turn down the folding so as to not over-stress the cooling system. Once I'm in the A/C again I crank it back up to 100%.

You and Speedo used to donate alot to the team and your contributions are missed. :(

Every little bit helps.
