Yesterday, on the Discovery Channel, there was a world premier on the Bermuda Triangle. Thousands of ships and planes have disappeared there and yet, no one knew exactly what the cause was.
Some skeptics of already put in place theories dismissed them as not credible. But recently, as more and more investigations were performed concerning the theories, it became clear to the skeptics that what were theories before, might be the hard truth.
So what were these theories?
Well, as geologists and other scientists explored the oceans floor near Florida, they discovered that there were enormous reserves of natural gas and methane gas. Enough natural gas to supply the entire United States alone for 70 years.
The most controversies were around five WWII fighters that simply disappeared when they were flying over the Bermuda Triangle. Submarines have been on the ocean floor to search for these planes. For years they couldnt find anything but in recent times, explorers have once again set out to try their luck. What they found were five planes - all in the same general area. The only huge twist is that these planes were not the planes they originally set out to find. In fact, these planes all crashed on different dates, on different missions - but all in the same general area. The Bermuda Triangle gave birth to a whole other mystery now aside from the main objective.
The five original planes were never found, however.
So you may wonder how methane gas can sink an enormous cargo ship or down a plane. As experiments proceeded it was found that just 1% of methane gas in the air could have shut down the engine of the exact WWII planes that have been found, and that are being looked for. Just one percent of methane in the air is not a lot at all (in fact, humans cannot detect it at all), compared to how much can be released. Actual tests prove that.
Also, they put a small boat in the water and put pipes which can release air bubbles. They wanted to see if the boat could sink (because the buoyancy would decrease dramatically). Sure enough, the boat sank. They also tested models inside labs, and let out larger bubbles. This also proved that large ships could easily sink in a matter of seconds.
The original Bermuda triangle has expanded from its current location to the coasts of the entire Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina due to an increased number of disappearances.
