Best and worst national anthem

I sort of guessed the USAnians would choose the star-spangled rag. Sort of no surprise. It's not a good tune, you know, my fellows. But of course, YOU will feel more intense when hearing it than hearing any other.
I never bothered to listen to or read the lyrics of most of the anthems. I just guessed they all sucked. But Mexico is, no contest, absolutely worst of the bunch when it comes to lyrics.
Norwegian anthem has a few verses, too, that are never sung. Indeed, the last time those verses were published must be 50 years or so ago. Not because they were calls for war, but quite the opposite, they described the national shame felt after fighting in the Great Nordic War (against our brothers, so to speak).

THE BEST = the french national antheme

Good = Welsh national atheme

Pretty good = german national antheme and soviet nation antheme

French anthem?? The best one? Mmmm not sure. I'm getting bored with hearing it all the time, from the last world cup till the Euro 2000
Anyway, I think I like a lot the German one. Actually they "stole" it from Autrich I think.
Btw, do you know that Japanese have 2 shortest things in the world? The first one is of course their anthem, the second one, well I forgot what it was.

Of course the most impactful for me is the ole' USofA's...means a great deal hearing it.

Musically, however, I really like Perus --it is the best. A wonderful piece to hear. I also like Sri Lanka's, Canadas, and Frances.

I'd just point out that if you did have the longest...errm...thing, in the world, all the blood would go there, not enough blood would be left elsewhere, and you would die. Therefore, one of two things is true.

1) You DO have the longest...thing, in the world, but since you are alive, you don't know what a woman looks like, or you just can't 'get it up.'

2) You are insecure about the size of your...thing, feel that it is too small, and have to lie about its size.

Without a doubt, the best national anthem EVER is...

The made-up Soviet Anthem that Ivan Putsky would sing before every WWF match in the 80s! He made up the words each time, so it was never the same!

The best IMO is a toss up between Amhran Na bhFiann, and Gimno Sovietsko Soyuza (or something like that). The German, Israeli and French are good ones, you can bop along to the Cuban anthem, and Australias is pathetic.

BTW, what is the Swedish anthem? Waterloo? Dancing Queen? Fernando? (Only j/king, but it just came to me.. )

I think the best song which should be a national anthem is "I vow to thee our country". Try listening (to the music not the words) to that and not be proud to be from wherever you are from.
