Best Band Ever?

Midnight Oil is the best Australian band (that i can think of atm).

U2, Coldplay and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers all deserve to be considered as some of the best modern bands.

My personal favorite is Fleetwood Mac, although I would not claim that they are the BEST band ever in the opinion of anybody but myself.

Fleetmac was great band, or atleast from what I've heard. I'm not sure how they didn't get any press.

I could kinda agree with that except for RATM . probably you happen to be one of those guys that hate De La Rocha's voice, but at least admit that the guitarist is one of the most wicked around

I agree with #'s 2 - 7, but im a beatles fan. U2 is possiblt the worst " band" ive ever seen. Waste of perfectly good recording stusio and air playing time as far as Im concerned.

Agree with all except #6, Greenday. Specially Green Day's Dookie album. Thats a classic.

I like Guns N Roses, they may be over rated but that doesnt mean they suck, sweet child o mine has one of the most beautiful lyrics ive heard.

Nirvana really did have a huge impact on music, and still to this day they are responsiable for many a teenagers conversion to Rock. They reaslly put grunge and laternative music as a whole in the spotlight. Not to mention that they of course spawned one of todays's 'biggest' rock bands, the Foo Fighters. So I believe they deserve their status. It's easy to call them 'oversated' but they produced some of the 90's classic tunes and countless number of bands are influenced by them.

As for Rage Against The Machine, well they have some truely legendry songs, the sorts that always pack dancefloors. Their brand of music and politics was quite (excuse the pun) 'revolutionairy'. As with Nirvana, they are another bands that converts teenagers on mass to Rock music.

Well of course thats a major factor, but you could apply that to other bands as well, like Joy Division or bands where the frontman died, like The Doors.

They were huge when he was alive.
