Best decisions of your life

Roombas are better than vacuums/brooms not because they clean better per clean, but because you can literally clean 3 times a week and thus keep it clean without any work at all. All I do is move a couple things out of the way before I leave for work in the morning, then set the Roomba to go. I do this 3 times a week or so, in different rooms each time, and it keeps the place clean all week. So I do less work than with a vacuum, and the flat ends up cleaner.

Plus, it's a robot vacuum cleaner!!! That's just cool.

Sent from a phone, apols for any mistakes.

I decided to defer going to uni for a year and travel instead, and decided to study abroad for a year. They both turned out to be pretty good decisions. But I dunno how much of it was conscious decision, and how much of it was momentum. I took a gap year largely because that's what my sister did a couple of years before, and it seemed to work out well for her, so hey, why not. And I went on exchange because my degree requires it, and I picked my degree because I didn't really know what else to do, but had heard about this one when I was 14 and thought it sounded pretty interesting. Any benefits I've received (e.g. becoming more independent) following those decisions might be largely coincidental to the making of the decisions.

If someone tells you they're travelling to 'find themselves', they're probably doing so while sipping on a soy chai latte or something.

Yes? I thought of doing that.

But I'd probably have to renew half the floor boards. So, I haven't.

And the place would be a lot colder, unless I insulated between the floor board joists. Nightmare.

just one advantage of living in a hot country,

I wonder if my parents coming here when I was 9, counts as one of the best decisions of my life...

Yes. Why not?

There's no requirement that the best decisions of your life have to be your own, that I know of.

well, apparently in hindsight, ripping all the carpets out of my last house, and polishing the floor boards, was one of the best decisions of my life...
Wall to wall carpeting is pretty unsanitary, IMO. I've steam cleaned carpets many times & it's always super gross.
