I'd have to say that Babylon 5 was really, really solid. It was one of the few series that were written with a long-term game plan that really was explored. As well, their ideas of a broad diversity in ET powerlevels is important
Star Wars, when viewed in the context of all six movies, seemed to have a unity toward a purpose: the rise, fall, and redemption of Anakin Skywalker. I really like this unity of details, because it is generally lacking in a lot of TV shows.
