Beta Testers Needed!

BTW - I have about 50-60% of the text is missing. Almost all of the civics and half of the leaders plus 3/4ths of the early techs. Does this imply something went wrong with my install?

I'd imagine so. Try installing on a fresh copy. I still have issues with text because 2.6 RevDCM adds a bunch of new text that RoM doesn't have yet...

I found BuildingClassesNeeded tag for buildings xml. Do you think you can clone that tag into unitinfos schema using C++ and then put in building reqs for these units? Or is your plan above still in progress?

I've got my own code 95% working (minus the CvGameTextMgr, but that's easy), so I'm not too worried.

Oh, and I actually based some of the code off of that...

BTW, you forgot to put in prereq for Axemen. If you don't do prereq for Axemen, then don't bother with spearmen prereqs.

...I have to redo them all anyway, don't worry, I just forgot.

Ok.
Looking forward ot that bug because I like the idea of training centers for units. I originally was against Siege Workshop and Cannon Forge because they were applied ONLY to catapults, trebuchats (sp?), and cannons only. Now the feature is more ubiquitous, potentially. That makes for better sense in gameplay.

Found 2 - 3 things,

Screenie 1: I have Walls and Outpost in one city, it says only 10% defense, should be 45 %

Spoiler :
attachment.php

In other city (Jerusalem) I have walls, but it also shows 10%, should be 30%.

...The first limit to grow a city in snail mode is 480 food is that not a bit too much? remembered it was 240 in the past... at least I guess...

Screenie 2: All buildings have a unhappy and a unhealthy face icon to them, although actual value show they aren't actually counting - don't understand that.

Spoiler :

A last one:

When you chose custom game there is a barb world option and another one, they both have no explanation to them, just TXT_XXX stuff. So do the civics menues. Thats all I found by now.

I like the great new features btw. :)

Barbarian World and Rising Seas.

when moving mouse upon the option, there should be some explanation what barb world means, if enabled (i have no idea) and when water level will rise (i guess some climate change stuff about pollution/bad health)

I mentioned this earlier, it is missing text. You are playing a beta, problems are to be expected. I don't know why you are seeing the unhappy/unhealthy icons for everything... Did you install on 2.71 or 2.8beta? Do you have any other modmods installed?

I noticed the Barbershop was added. Is it part of the "Health Mod"?

It was included, as a random part of the Education modmod. (There wasn't a better place to stick it.)

I like the Giant Squid but i dislike the mythical creatures like the Giant Turtle and Sea Serpent. Is it possible to manually take them out from my mod folder but still keep the Giant Squid in?

Yeah. I didn't care for any of the creatures that spawned either. To remove them without actually deleteing anything, open up the UnitInfos in the Sea Monsters folder and place <!-- and --> around the units you want to disable. Those are comments for XML.

That is why I left Sea Monsters unchecked by default. I think it breaks the realism. I'll add a warning to my installer.

Ok i completely broke it and had to reinstall a clean RoM. I think i can do without the modmod. Its only a giant squid.

Yeah, I agree. However, Dancing Holskuld wanted it, so who am I to deny someone's request?

Plus, someone might actually think of useful functionality for it someday.

Don't worry, you aren't crazy. I double checked and found that my base food thresholds were accidentally doubling the threshold... My bad. Fixed for beta8.

Because it is sorta big bug, can you provide a hotfix for it now? Don't want to waste time growing cities if it is this hard by accident.

Hi Afforess, nice you found this food-thingie!

and about your question: No, i've only installed 2.8beta + your newest beta, nothing more or less... I don't know if there are any other folders corrupting the game, like /my documents/games/beyond the sword etc.

And the thing is the red and unhealthy faces are shown to nearly every building, but don't count - the actual value it shows is correct (i really like the feature about showing the math what a certain building will bring).

one more question: do you know about the city defense values mentioned? was 10% at beginning, now as city grows and i have national courier system its 30%, but it looks as if it should be 55% (outpost=15%, walls=30%, national=10%). Do only larger cities get this full bonus or is it something else?

I too am getting this. Except I noticed that if the building gives a happy face then I get the correct happy face plus the incorrect unhealthy one. I suspect that if I had built a health building that it would show the correct health and an unhappy face.

As to the sea creatures, those are the only graphics we have. Oh, and sea serpents, or what is now belive to have been seen as sea serpents exist. Many of the stories also involved whales..... Also the most dangerous creature in Africa, after humans, is the hippo but we don't have any of them either. (I need some sleep!)
