Beta Testers Needed!

Can't say I've played this in any other mod, but the mastery conditions don't feel right to me. One point per tile controlled when most everything else is a percent seems like it gives excessive weight to landmass; especially seeing as my lurking seems to indicate RoMers prefer larger than standard mapsizes. Take with a grain of salt, I don't consider myself an advanced player.

Actually starting a game now.

DLL's are always save game compatible unless you add a new XML tag, as it adds another line to the save to read and write from.

Short answer: Yes.

And yes, Exams >> RoM.

try to get 10 Hours of sleep when you cram, you will learn better
:thanx: for the Early release

Are you sure? I just tested and I was getting 2mb/s. Google is the host, so it's a good connection.

I got crappy Satellite DSL. And it's been rainy and cloudy. Just got it installed.

Kaspersky AV doesn't like your installer. Thinks it's a P2P worm. :p

barter civic seems to give -30% :food: not -30% :commerce: as I remember hearing in a thread. bug or unnanounced change?

Your right, that is a bug. I've uploaded a corrected version. If you uninstall, and reinstall with exactly the same components, it will be save game compatible.

Also, Mastery Victory ends far too soon, I know. I just want to get your opinions on it, it definitely needs balancing.

The correct build is 1.52Beta3

Your like the 5th or 6th person to report that, I think I'll have to email them.

Afforess -- had the same issue as well -- so I installed to another machine not running Kaspersky -- ran direct scans and had no problem. FWIW, warning pops up when setting a restore point (or doing an uninstall point).

Just found your minimod, enjoying it so far. Was running tests of beta 2 -- can't wait to get back to run tests of Beta 3.

Keep up the good work -- enjoying the hell out of both ROM and the additional options.

I'm actively talking with Kaspersky. Hopefully I can get it sorted it out. ;)

Out of curiosity, how did you find my modmods? The Front Page? Forums?

While we're talking about installer issues, any way you can save a location across versions so I don't need to drill down to that horribly buried steam path every time?

I might be able to. What is the default path for steam?

hi Afforess, I want to remove the number of wonder limitation in one city, so which xml file should I modify?
I used to modify the \Rise of Mankind\Assets\XML\GlobalDefines.xml. But I cannot find this file after installing your Beta3....

Bad news. I just discovered a fatal flaw, which corrupts any saves. I'll try to fix ASAP. In the mean time, enjoy your game while it lasts, you'll never be able to open those saves again.

Forums -- probably on a search looking for speed improvements initially. The last version of ROM that I played a complete game was in the 2.4 version range -- been super busy with work and not having much time to play. Got the itch to get a game going recently, after looking into buying a new laptop with Win 7 and thought I would look at what others were saying about the new OS.

I probably play with about 1/3 of the options -- I'm always concerned that some of the options are not "AI smart". Mostly the civic type options turned on, and now with 1.5 -- no storms.

I believe I found the error. I am recompiling my DLL now. Expect a new beta in 15 minutes.

Eureka! I've fixed it. For those too lazy to wait or redownload the huge package, replace the CvGameCoreDLL in the Rise of Mankind/Assets folder.

The GlobalDefines.xml should be in the Rise of Mankind/Assets folder. However you may not need to change it, as I upped the limit to 5, over the previous value of 4 for Wonders, and 6 over 4 for National Wonders.
