Betting and Speculation - The "Entirely Separate Hypercube" Civ!

How about this "hypercube" civ able to move domestic units through other civ's territory without open borders? And to top it, any military unit stacked with it?

How about a civilization whose cities could move - you'd build a settler-type unit which removed the existing city, only to rebuild it - and all it's buildings thus far - somewhere else?

The last two combined would be awesome. :D
Up until a certain era at least. Medieval perhaps?

I don't think it would be realistic for a nomadic civ to be able to move all of the buildings. Some should be able to be moved, but others I think should stay on the tile. Could be a cool thing to settle on a tile and find you've got some buildings already because the nomad civ was there and built them earlier.

Basic buildings like granary, library and such? Yeah, that'd be cool.

Could be a nomadic city that can only move within its cultural borders, which would grow or be purchased around it as usual. So a OCC that gradually blocks out a big area that is its territory. That way others won't steal its improvements, but it could migrate between food heavy areas or productive areas depending on what it was trying to do. Go over to the coast to build a ship, etc.

If you really want to think outside the box, it would be a civ with no cities. Imagine starting with a great prophet instead of a settler, and an ability to found a religion in a CS. Your UA is an ability to buy units in allied city states, but your only option capturing cities is raze, gift, or liberate. Your UU could be a warrior who can spread religion like a missionary.

Call it the Papal States.

I do not think that devs would go out it's way to create something that crazy, but today as I woke up, I had a thought.

UA : Ability to move population at your will between cities, instead of movign cities one tile at a time, move population one time at a time, I'd be down with that. City being attacked? move population.

It wouldn't be that bad, would be unique (the only other thing we had was emmigration via random events).

Sorry for the double post.. but what if they are tricking us?

To quote Kate : "It’s a Civ with such a unique play style that no civ ever before has ever been designed this way. It’s not just outside the box, it’s in an entirely separate hypercube"

What if what they are refering to is somethnig to do with one of the new mechanics of BNW? That would by default make it "never before designed this way"... because the mechanic didn't exist? Wouldn't that be just a beach?

If this is the case, then Brazil might be the hypercube. It's a civ designed pretty much to show off a lot of the new features, it seems.

I actually like that if you read between the words you realise few things

1. Kate never stated that it's a new civ, we only assume because they would probably say which one

2. They never said if it's a BNW hypercube (using it's mechanics) or vanilla/G&K hypercube (using it's mechanics)

I'm curious to see what it is to be honest.

What if it's a civ that can work any tile out to ring 5?

Due to the source of it I wondered. I was ready to reply to a full on comprehensive report of the final 2 civs and the very unique mechanics of one, but its been nuked off the face of the board which leads me to suggest that moderators are not keen on having it discussed before the NDA lifted. I thought it sounded a little weak until I read it twice, then realised the full potential!

What am I missing?

It said the cubs were Venice lead by Enrico Dandolo and Shoshone lead by Chief Pocatello. I left the thread to search who chief Pocatello was, and when I came back it was gone. First post btw.

I am missing something too

I've been on these forums for over 2 hours now, (I know a little sad :( LOL), but I didn't see any thread like that
