[Beyond the Sword] History In The Making

Was playing against Shaka(Zululand) and his horse archers ride giraffes LOL OMG was so funny. What a great unit Grave!! Is that historical or were you having a bit of fun?

I've turned of assimilation and no longer having first to worse, but now I'm getting the last place civs being eliminated until there are only 5 civs left. I have assimilation unchecked, as well as this option.

Well that's a new one.

Nah, just having a little bit of fun. :P

I've just downloaded that patch and we will start to test it with my friend :) I have one kind request - could you please correct spell error in first post? There is: Semjik instead of Sejmik (Polish unique building). Sejmik means small Sejm. Sejm is the lower house of Polish Parliament, it is an old-Polish word that describe a gathering which makes the law in Poland. It was firstly formed in the end of XIV century so it has quite long tradition :)

I downloaded 3.0 yesterday, along with the GPUtil fix.

I couldn't get past 15 or 20 turns in. I tried every possible fix I could think of. I tried Low graphics, I turned the BUG mod off, I turned Assimilation off. I got the same result each time.

The funny thing is that 2.02 (which I have in my mod library) works perfectly. Something you added for 3.0 makes the game unplayable on my computer.

I suspect there may be a Vista problem with something you added. If that is the case, you may want to message Jojoweb, and ask him how he fixed that with his mod Total War. I had the exact same problem with an earlier version of one of his mods, and he somehow fixed it...and now it runs smooth on my computer. Perhaps he can help.

Grave, couldn't it be you are looking for files to include/read from in the default XP directory where Vista stores it somewhere else?

Im using Vista though, and not having problems Edward. I wonder why I dont have any problems and you do? Could Vista be different for people as well?

That renders my remark a moot point. Did you change your ini as Grave suggested, Cross Cowboy?

Cool... thanks. I'll change that as soon as I have a spare moment! :goodjob:

Sorry... can't help ya unless I see some log files.

I may be contacting Jojoweb in the near future, then.

I don't know... I can certainly take a peek, though.

I uninstalled BTS and deleted all the files from my sister, then reinstalled. How do I go back to the single figure for the unit rather than the multiple figures for each unit (five warriors, two scouts, etc...)

Drew actually posted an ini for me that im using and so far so good. I havnt tried Grave's changes since I was havint any problems. Maybe i should make the changes Grave suggested and see what happens, but to be honest...the only problem I had has been solved by turning off the great person bar and using Drew's ini. I wonder if Drew uses Vista? Im not sure if the other problems are related the same way. I do bet thought that between Vista and XP, there are some difference for the files. Many are asking about the assimilation mod...i dont even have that option. LOL just wait til Windows 7 comes out haha...that may cause even more issues. :crazyeye:

Im really curious though if the ini would have to be different for your operating system. That cant be right though...could it?

The grt person bar, we know is Bug Interface related, Grave's fix should sort that out (but I still haven't played Civ for a while, so haven't tried any of the new stuff). The .ini file should really be global, and not depend upon OS.

And I still use XP. Xp uses about 400Meg RAM to run all its processes, and is very stable. Vista uses twice that much, and isn't....."Let's make a new OS for windows, and to make it faster and better, we'll make it use twice as much memory" :crazyeye:

Great call MCSoft....:mischief:

Vista uses 1gb of ram. It SUCKS!!!

But Grave; great game, but there is a constant crash for me here:
Click end turn and watch it crash.

Optional Graphics Add-On Packs released!!!

Please see Post #2 for download info.

Since v3.01 disables your CustomAssets folder in order to prevent weird bugs from happening, you will need these add-on packs if you want to continue using Blue Marble or Improved Graphics with History in the Making. I've made them easy use... one FPK file for each add-on pack!

this patch fixed all my bugs / crashs when creating a huge map / disapearing UI / BUG Mod not displaying.

very good work.
