Grave,
I downloaded your mod and unzipped it to the BTS/Mods/History In The Making folder as instructed AND it went through all of the mod loading stuff (it took five minutes) and even shows the mod is loaded in the upper right hand corner of the BTS menu screen... however, when I try to start a game, I don't see any of the new civs available. I was going to play as Israel, but it doesn't show up. Then I checked and I don't see Hitler, The Rep. of Texas, or any other new leader or civ...
Do you have any idea what may be wrong? Here's a pic of my opening menu, as you can see -- I don't have the same screen as it appears in your post, but the mod appears to have definitely loaded because the "Unload Mod" option is there:
Well, judging by your screenshot, something is definately wrong, because I changed the Main Menu so that it shows Earth, not the Apostolic Palace.
Also, I did not instruct to unzip the ZIP file into BTS/Mods/History In The Making. I said to unzip it directly into your MODS folder. Take a look at your History in the Making folder. If there is another History in the Making sub-directory, that's where you made your mistake.
Also, it only takes about a minute for my mod to load up... do you have a lower end computer? That may be the issue for it taking 5 mintues to load.
So, if it looks like this:
MODS/History in the Making/History in the Making <---- wrong.
If so, you need to make it look like this:
MODS/History in the Making.
Here is the Install Instructions from the Readme:

4. Installation Instructions
So easy a Caveman can do it. Just unzip the zip file into either one of your MODS folders. This also includes patch releases.
So it should look like this:
My Documents/My Games/Beyond the Sword/Mods/HISTORY IN THE MAKING
Or
C:/Program Files/Civilization IV/Beyond the Sword/Mods/HISTORY IN THE MAKING
That’s all there is to it!
When you unzip the ZIP file, it creates the HISTORY IN THE MAKING directory for you... no need to create a History in the Making folder, then unzip into that folder, which I suspect is what you did, based off your screenshot and the description of the errors you're getting.
Make sense?
i'll try to install in english but i don't think this will help me. Many mods works fine and of course are all in english (example: ffh, maxriga,mrnz,wolfshanze..)
thanks anyway
I don't know what to say about that one, man. Players using default English settings are having no problems. There was a player from France having the same issues you were having, and he had a French version of Civ4. So maybe the other-than-English versions aren't working correctly.
Hey guys I just started 3 more games last night and all 3 of them the barbarians destroyed at least 3 civs by turn 125.
Is there a file that controls the frequency of barbs appearing. I know you didnt modify Grave but if there is a file I would like to modify it.
I also noticed that all the barbarians start with warriors but only a couple rounds later swordsmen appear. I think that has something to do with the destruction they are dealing out.
The only time I've ran into problem with barbarians laying to waste whole Civilizations was when I had "Raging Barbarians" set... and they were raging, believe me.

The barbarians acquire swordsman whenever a civilization reaches the Classical era, then the swordsman become the default barbarian unit. It really sucks when you're still in the Ancient era, behind the Tech power curve and have to fend off Swordsman barbarians.
I may be able to do something about this... let me look into it.
Can't wait to try out the mod! I have the next three days off work, and a heavily loaded cooler full of beer...
