[Beyond the Sword] History In The Making

Hi!

A friend of mine reports that with v0.03 on and so also with 0.04 in MULTIPLAYER
The info of civs at the bottom right s GONE... :(
Not even the CIVS are there!
nothing is there!

But in single game it is OK, everything is there as supposed to be

Is it a bug now or what?

Thanks for any help...

Hey, I love the mod, but I would like to play more than the 750 turns and I was wondering if there was a way for me to make that possible. Thank you, and this mod totally rocks.

@Kalimakhus
aight sweet....does stuff take twice as long to research and build though?

I don't really support Multiplayer, just the single player experience.

Can you post a screenshot of this error?

Try it and find out. :)

I only play on Marathon game speeds, because I love long games. I haven't had a chance to play Odyssey as of yet, but from what I hear, Carter did a great job balancing it out.

I have a suggestion. could you guys use the revolutions mod? i think it adds SO much to the game to know that your different regions are not automatically secure. i recommend you consider it

Yeah, its definitely great - research times are longer, but build times aren't effected too much. I like long games, but I don't like having to push enter 80 times before I've built my first warrior. I never could bring myself to play Epic or Marathon games, but Odyssey is perfect.

What file type is this? .Zip?

That's a feature that comes stock with the game (not just my mod). Just turn it off.

Maybe. :mischief: I have other things that need attention first, though.

Check again. :)

OK...I checked again and it still says maps are on the way. I guess my original question still stands. When will there be maps for this mod? I like your new resources but would like some sort of realisitc maps say Europe, Middle East, World, whatever.

Then you're not looking hard enough. :)

There is already a nice earth map that comes with the mod. Just get into scenarios and it should be the first one listed.

The Mod looks great from what I've read. I look forward to trying it out. I have a dumb question though. If I download and install the mod, can I still play regular BTS 3.13 games so long as I don't load the mod? Or will my BTS be forever 'History in the Making'?

I looked for the answer to this in the FAQ here, but I didn't see it. I can't possible read thru all of these posts to find it, so I apologize if this has already been asked.

Also, I installed an Unofficial and an Official 3.13 patch for BTS. Will that affect me being able to play this MOD.

Thanks.

Whenever you start BtS, it'll start as the unmodded version. To play HitM, you go to 'Advanced' -> 'Load a Mod' -> 'History in the Making.' Or create a shortcut. Regardless, the standard BtS is completely unaffected. So, yes, you can play a normal BtS game if you don't load the mod. But to be honest, I'm not sure why you'd want to.
I'm not sure about the unofficial patch, but the official patch is a requirement, so having it definitely effects your ability to play :)

On another note, the Japanese armsman model has the sword floating upside down off to the side of the model. So unless the Japanese mastered telekinesis during the middle ages, I think its unintended.

Just in case I'd like to play a PBEM game or finish up an old save game or something, I'd like to be able to play the normal BTS 3.13. Thanks for the info.

Bhruic's Unofficial patch uses it's own DLL file. So in reality, when you're playing hte Unofficial v3.13 BtS version, you're not really playing the Official version, because they both use different DLL files.

HiTM has Bhruic's Unofficial patch incorporated into it, so all is good there.

Those crazy Japanese armsmen!

I'll fix that for the next patch... thanks! :goodjob:

OK, I found a file called graveearth in a private map folder and copied it to the public map folder for BTS. I'll give it a try.

You don't even need to do that. Just leave it where it's at... it'll play just fine. :)

Any more more maps out soon? I miss playing the European powers.

I was enjoying this mod right up to when it crashed to desktop.

I was playing as Israel. I had just reached the medieval age. Saladin had granted me permission to pass through his borders. A barbarian group had taken one of his cities and I saw it as an opportunity to go claim it without having to declare war on Saladin. Just as I initiated the attack on the barbarians holding the city, I crashed to desktop.

I was playing the latest build of History in the Making (BTS) on Windows XP Pro. I have lots of memory (both HD and RAM) so I don't think its a hardware problem. And yes, I have the 3.13 patch from Firaxis.

So anyway, if there's a glitch someplace, I hope the above info helps you track it down. But like I said, I was enjoying it up to that point.

I just unzipped and loaded the game files up yesterday night and since then have not been able to play the mod. I can load the game and choose my Civ and set options etc. But during the loading screen, when it goes to set up the map, it hard crashes to desktop. I've played many other mods with little to no problem, it sounds great and I just want to play. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Faust
