Firstly, the mod is running smooth as silk for me, but then I am using 1.5, so....?
I do have one question tho'. I have missile cruisers now but I can not seem to find any cruise missiles to load on them. Anyone else notice this?:confused:
 
About Ahmadi Nejad (by the way it is two separate words/names). I meant which XML LH you started with (Monty, Napoleon, ...). The guy is nuts. He also keeps refusing to talk for a longer time than others (stone-headed like Bismark).

I see what you mean now. I'm not sure which LH's XML I based him off of, but I usually go in and make further adjustments to attitude, etc.

By the sounds of it, I think I made a fairly accurate representation on him. ;)

I figured it out, it does work, it just takes 15 minutes to load the map, and once im in there it lags pretty bad. Im playing on Odyssey speed and Planetary size. Can my computer not handle it? If not its wierd because I can play CoD 4 and Oblivion max settings with 40 FPS on Oblivion and 130 on CoD 4 with very minimal lag. I wouldnt imagine Civ 4 has higher standards than those two.

I've been trying to figure out why my laptop with 2GB of RAM and an AMD 64 processor continues to lag and cause very slow/choppy lag. Civ4 use to run flawlessly for me, but as of late is has became rather slow (even on Standard size maps). I use to run HUGE maps without any lag or slowdown. The one strange thing I noticed last night while playing is when it started to get slow, I hit the "Windows" button on my kepyboard which brought me back to the desktop. I let it sit for a minute and then went back into the game (Civ4 with BtS installed on a Standard size map). The lag disappeared and it was smooth again for a while. If I keep doing this it seems to "clear it's mind or something". I am not a computer guru, but I do know enough to be dangerous. Does anyone have an explanation for this or maybe even a fix? Please let me know if you need any other information from me.

BTW: I notice the biggest slowdown and lag when I have a bunch of Jungle tiles exposed. Not sure if this helps or not. Are there any VERY low resolution terrain mods I can load and try? I already have the "LOW Terrain Graphics" selected within the settings.

Civ4 can be notorious for being a memory hog. Unless you have a high end computer, I wouldn't recommend playing on the Planetary size map. It's friggin' huge. :crazyeye:

I appreciate everyone's patience with my mod. I've updated it to correct the problems with forests and workers.

Note, that if you do wish to produce a non-expanded-city radius (as I've been unable to reproduce these crashes), go into CvCity.cpp and change the getNumPlots() function and comment out the clauses for radii 3 and 4. Also, change CvGlobals.cpp such that NUM_CITY_PLOTS equals 21. That won't totally remove this mod, but it's much easier than maintaining two fairly different DLL files.

If users would please try making a city in ancient times and then building a lighthouse. This has caused crashes for some users in previous versions of the mod, and the crashes may be caused by founding a city in Medieval era or later where the lighthouse comes free. Or, if this CTD happens in earlier eras upon founding a city, tell me.

Its a good mod but imo it needs an earth map (not just an ancient civs one)

They're easy to make. Do a search in the tutorial section for how to do this.

I may get around to different Earth maps, but not for a while.

Now it works for me also. No CTDs so far. BUT:

The Atomic Bomber, when used to bomb a tile or city crashes the game now (it didn't used to). Does anyone have the same problem? I tested it by adding it through the Worldbuilder.

Couple of Question:

How do you change FLAVOR units for a Civ? Example: I play with Alexander (a Greek myself) and I' d like to use the Apache instead of vanilla Gunship. The greek military uses them so... :)

If it's just me having the issue with the Atomic Bomber and as i wouldn't like the game to crash when AI uses it or when i use it, how do you remove it?

Interesting. I'll have a look at this. I know Dale incorporated some new "Atomic Bomber" code to DCM v1.3. It may be conflicting with my Atomic Bomber Mod.

Glad to hear everybody is CTD free with v1.51. That's a big relief.

I'll look into the Missile Cruiser thing, too. I don't recall ever making changes to the missiles or the cruisers... but I'll check it out anyway.

Ok, I just confirmed this issue. Any use of the Atomic Bomber will cause a CTD. I'm willing to bet DCM v1.3 is conflicting with my Atomic Bomb Mod.

This should be easy to fix... I'll work on it.

Also if you run Firefox (which I do) don't leave it up while playing civ IV. In fact use the manager to make sure it is off! It has worse memory leaks than civ IV, and that is saying something.

Spanish with 4 seafood resources start on a whole lot of hills...

Even if I do play Emp lvl (when founding an early religion with 14 other civs on a huge map is nigh on impossible), decided Im having one and frik to development...then in 3500BC (marathon) I get the Vedic Archer event, so Im dead, 6 archers vs a city building a workboat :lol:

But no they wander through Madrid's outer borders and march on Kim Korea, who just founded Tao (choose religions settings), and take and raze his holy city (so early it may never have got past size one)...then I knew they'd be coming back for me, and my 2 warriors heriocally defeat 3 archers (ha)...

Amazingly Im first to priesthood, found Christanity (hoorah), and next for hunting, and up crops Ivory in my fat cross (this could be good)....then after Archery I take Mining and ....whoosh 2 of the grassland hills(italics for emphasis) have GOLD...

And then after converting my neighbour Hannibal to Christianity, he founds Confucianism and converts to that instead (that so and so), a later war shall be necessary I feel, hes already making rude noises in my direction.

And the barbs Jeez, I had 3 cities and was attacked by 2 spearmen, 3 axes, a horse archer and 2 archers from diff directions on the same turn.....:eek: (non raging either)

Anyways, its a fun game at last, and Grave: to me the most impressive thing you've done, is make each and every leader FUN and INTEResting to play (I wouldn't dream of play as the Aztecs in Vanilla for example, I'd rather gargle razor blades...)

I have 4.0 gz cpu (one of the last single cores) and 2 gig RAM and I switch everything off when playing Civ itself, even anti spy and stuff. Also have the mem saving option on ( so no alt-tabbing). If anyone remebers Harkonnen (Dennis to friends from the early days of CIV IV), jst ask him about attempting to fix memory leaks....

Actually, why wait? :)

This is such a simple fix. Just take the attached XML, unzip it to your Desktop, then place it into your
HISTORY IN THE MAKING/Assets/XML/Misc directory. When asked to overwrite, say "yes".

Turns out I forgot to rename the Atomic Bomber's nuke animation from what Dale uses "nukebomber" to what I use "NuclearBomber". When merging XML files, I must of used his tag by accident, overwriting the one I had in place before. See below

In v1.52, I'm going to clean up my SDK files a little in regards to Dale's Atomic Bomber code and my Atomic Bomb Mod code. But in the mean time, this XML will fix the CTD issue.

Grave: Babylon's barrack replacement gives 25% build + on all land units (fine excellent idea for troops), but this also includes Workers and Settlers..for a building that comes from the word go, and lasts forever, I think this is a bit much, it's almost giving Babylon part of a 3rd trait, 1/2 exp, and 1/2 ind...

(I know there's a tag somewhere that seperates troops from workers, settlers, miss, grt people etc.)

I downloaded 1.5 and patch. I can trade across oceans and I have only just gotten caravals - bug or design?

Aside - Every now and then I like to play this mod on easy (Warlord) and get all the religions :)
 
Could only see two maps to select from, after some searching I found AllowPublicMaps = 0 in HISTORY IN THE MAKING.ini and changed it to one.

Should I expect any problems? was it intentionally set to "0".

Playing for now with no problems on Pangaea.

Last question: will maylon's fixed mod be included with1.52 ?

I'm playing my 5º game in Earth map and after 1.5v my game speed is more slowly. Now have 30-40 sec between turns. Befere was 15-20 sec in the industrial age.I don't know why this diference. It's boring wait this time to play. I prefer large maps or standart maps.
 
Great mod. Really, really promising base on which lots of future creations will be based I'm sure. Great job Grave!

Kinda reminds me a tad bit of the old Double Your Pleasure, although a bit better balanced.

Couple questions. I've looked in FAQ and searched the thread (and the Pedia) but I'm not finding anything that can clarify for me how the Archer Bombard function works. Should my archers get that little red and white bullseye button like arty do when they are next to a fortified city? I'm not getting anything like that. Is it because a Tech I have not discovered yet?

Opportunity Fire: I'm getting the impression this is sort of like a Zone of Control feature, in that it is just a passive effect where fortified arty units pop off shots sometimes?

ADDIT: I see now you answered my question about WOC up above :) Yeah, I can see how it would be a big job! Maybe eventually!
