But during the loading screen, when it goes to set up the map, it hard crashes to desktop.

I had the same behaviour when my BTS wasn't updated to the latest Firaxis patch (3.13).

Sorry to bother you again but I have patched the original game with the 0.03 patch and...



It worked fine without the patch :/

That's odd. Are you sure you installed the patch as per the instructions in Post #2?

Of course I did, and I have the exact same problem with 0.04.

Using XP Pro, fresh BTS install with 3.13...
 
^^^ Looks like a problem I had when adding flavor units. It would only occur for certain civs if one the flavor unit tags in CIV4UnitArtStyleTypeInfos didn't have a match in CIV4ArtDefines_Unit. This can be tested in WB. Start adding different Roman units and if game crashes on a particular unit, you found your culprit.
 
I was enjoying this mod right up to when it crashed to desktop.

I can't really offer any help unless you post up that particular save game so I can take a look at it.

I just unzipped and loaded the game files up yesterday night and since then have not been able to play the mod. I can load the game and choose my Civ and set options etc. But during the loading screen, when it goes to set up the map, it hard crashes to desktop. I've played many other mods with little to no problem, it sounds great and I just want to play. Any suggestions?

I need more details like what Civ you're choosing, if it's only when a specific civ is chosen, if it's all civs, etc...

That happened to somebody on here before, and it was an issue with their video card. But I won't know for sure unless you tell me specifics.

I had to ask... you neve know. Some people try playing this on BtS without updating to v3.13 first, and not even updating HiTM to v0.04.

I don't know what to tell you then. I just uninstalled the entire mod, then reinstalled the entire mod with patch v0.04 and everything is working just fine. You seem to be the only one with this particular issue. I'm not saying it's your fault or anything, but maybe try messing around with the different settings on your end and see what happens.

When the interface is blank like that, it's usually Python that is broken. For you, that's about all the help I can offer since I can't reproduce this problem, and nobody else is reporting it.
 
This is a very nice, all-encompassing mod. :)

One problem though; is there any way to make it load faster? It takes about 5-6 minutes on my machine to boot the game up... :crazyeye:

Unfortunately, no. I have a decent system, and it only takes about a minute to fire up. That's why I recommend a higher end system to play HiTM. :)
 
Any ETA for your second UU module yet?

Funny you should mention that. I'm just putting on the final touches as I type this.

The 2UU module will only be compatable with v0.05 and later though... which I should have released, hopefully, by this afternoon/evening.

Might of just figured out the problem with the crash. Just downloaded the 313 patch. It said hit OK to install patch. Then it would close and I assumed it was loaded. It wasn't. Went to the PATCH file and double clicked on the PATCH 313 and it installed. Am using VISTA. Trying the game now. Hope it works. will let you know.

Hmmm... I just loaded up a game, random map w/ random civs, and was able to build my first city no problems.


Do this... fire up a game. Right before you build your first city, save it, then post the save here and I'll take a look at it.

Concerning the 2UU module, they all look really good. However, I think the Foreign Legion and SAS UUs might be a little too limited by the fact that you need a military academy to build them. Limiting the UU to being built in only one or two cities, and sometimes not at all, doesn't seem like a great idea to me.

I'm also a little unsure about UUs upgrading to one another. The Celtic Gallic Warrior to Highlander is especially good, but the other two (Inca and Russian) aren't really a big deal.

My question is in mod statistics screen i see only single unit statistics, but if i click on top units or any else button nothing see . This is bug or my fault ?

If i run only unit statistics mod all is functional .

I really want to figure out a work around for that. When I made Special Forces require a Military Academy, I (had a momentary brain dump) thought the Academy gave an experiece boost, not unit production modifier. I didn't realize my mistake until after I released the patch. :crazyeye:

Any suggestions? I don't want to make Special Forces available is just any city, but more like ones that you (or the AI) specifically set out to specialize in military unit construction.

What specifically don't you like about the Incan and Russian UU's? The units they replace, or their "uniqueness"? :confused:

It's OK. I'm trying my best to figure out what you're saying here, so bear with me.

I'm able to go into the unit statistics screen, and all is working fine. I realize that clicking on the "High Scores" and "Player Statistics" isn't working, but honestly I'm not too concerned with that.

Can you try explaining again what problem you found, please? :)

It might not be the best solution, but you could gve them the requirement of military academy OR palace, which would gauruntee that at least one city can build them. Especially since I've never seen the AI actually build a Military Academy.

What I mean is that the UUs upgrade to each other - Quechua (Warrior) to the swordsmen replacement, Gallic Warrior (Swordsmen) to Highlander (Armsmen), and Cossack (Cavalry) to the Black Shark (Helicopter). The highlander in particular gets extra benefit from being upgraded from a Gallic Warrior - it's already awesome in hills, but upgading it from a Gallic Warrior can net it Guerilla I, II, and III, in addition to its native +50% hill strength and 20% withdrawl. What I meant in that quote is that the Incan and Russian UU to UU upgrades aren't a problem, since they don't get any major benefit from that upgrade. It's not that the units themselves I have any problem with.
Then again, I my concerns here might be unjustified, since I haven't actually played any games as the Inca, Celts, or Russians yet.

West Point can be a suitable replacement for the Academy. Though consequently this makes the unit require having a unit promoted to a certain level. Still I can't think of another building that is suitable.

Yes, I believe this is exactly what he's saying. I noticed that as well and it is a bit unpleasant.

I haven't tried 3.13 without HitM :crazyeye: so I have to ask, is this strange behaviour brought by HitM ? (I can live without that kind of statistics as well so it's not a high priority, I'm just curious)

The unit statistics works just fine. I don't really care enough about the Player statistics or whatever to try fixing it right now.

The unit stats works... that's all I really wanted anyway. :)
