[Beyond the Sword] History In The Making

Just like Vince_2000 a couple of posts up I'm having trouble with icons while running HiTM. I'm using XP though, and I've got BtS 3.13 and tried playing both HiTM 1.00, 1.02 and 1.02+interim patch. Also tried un- and re-installing and downloading the files again. It looks the same every time.

Great Mod!! I love playing this so far. I like all of the changes. I think i'll probably play this mod exclusively until civ 5!

I did encounter one problem, or maybe the mod was intended to be that way, but i couldn't build the temple of solomon for my country. i was playing as israel. thanks for making a great mod.

As you can see, building the Temple of Solomon is possible.
 
I had the Jewish holy city in Jerusalem. I got my great prophet and was going to build the temple of solomon in jerusalem and i had no building action available for my prophet, only the golden age and super specialist icons as well as the free tech one. I can try another game and see if it happens again. It's only my first game with your mod and i am not familiar with all of the rule changes and pre requisites yet, so i was assuming this might have fallen under that heading. Thanx

Jay have you downloaded the patch? If I remember rightly, without the patch you couldn't build Holy Shrines (a slight code omission)....

English. I played for a bit anyway and everything else seems to work okay, but those weird icons takes a bit of the fun out of it ;)
 
OK, I've downloaded the mod twice, the map as well, but it still starts me at 4000 BC. (Oh well, I think I can make my own version...):mischief:

Yeah, it's supposed to start you @ 4000BC. :lol:

It's not a 1000AD Scenario, only the Earth map based off of the Earth1000AD scenario. :lol:
 
Hi, I have a question.

I haven't tried v1.00+ yet. However when using the previous version I have made some minor modifications to the XML files:

1- I made religion-dependent buildings (helsinki catedral, etc) available regardless of state religion;
2- I removed the need for Palace for national wonders (the Supreme Court comes to mind), for reasons already mentioned;
3- I increased movement on railroad 10fold (60 moves)
5- I rebalanced a couple civics a little (I think I posted a message about this)

Perhaps there's more but I don't remember now :-)

I was wondering if you could suggest me the easiest way to replicate all these modifications on the new version (except those for which there's no more need, of course). Is there a way to create a mod of a mod? I'm rather ignorant on this. I decided to post this here because maybe there are other people interested in this. However if this topic is more suited for a different forum just say so and I'll ask again there.

NO, I did not download the patch yet. I'm sure this will fix my problem. By the way, can someone tell me exactly where and how to install the patch? I am almost computer illiterate, and I tried to figure it out myself and screwed things up badly.:sad: I wound up having to delete the mod completely and re-download everything just to get it back. I wish I could tell you what i did, but i have no clue.

I must say that I like this mod so much that I think you should consider calling it Civilization 4.9!! Thanks for compiling the work and to all who contributed. I'm looking forward to any more earth maps with alternate choices for civs/leaders.:) :D :)

I can say, even looking through the Civilopedia of this mod that this looks good.

BTW, I did followed and read the instructions
