Blue Marble Terrain

Thanks for the update info. :)

Glad to see the thing that most bugged me (i.e., plains colour) has been tweaked :goodjob:

civscale needs like a preview window or something so we can tell what the changes are going to look like generaly with out having to load up the game every time we make a change

I agree, this would be an excellent improvement to a very useful tool.

The "Blue Marble" terrain mod has been updated to V1.02. It includes an installation correction for problematic Civ4 installations and subtle color corrections according to frequent demand: terrain slightly brighter, plains slightly more yellowish and a little more versatilty in brightness graduations of jungle plants.

Is their any way that a patch containing only the effected files could be released for the terrain set? That way we don't have to download the entire file again. (17.2 MB is a lot for people with slow dial-ups like me :()

With exception of 'bonuses' and 'improvements', Firaxis implemented a nice feature ,so that all scaling parameters in CIV4DetailManager.xml that are affected by the CivScale can be changed 'on the fly' without restarting the game, if you
- play Civ4 in full-screen mode
- leave Civ4 via ALT-TAB to change scalings
- re-enter Civ4 via ALT-TAB to see how it looks

Perhaps you tried multiplayer games? Custom graphic mods for multiplayer are disabled by the game because of abuse possibilites. But if nothing helps you can try coping the mod graphics from the personal CustomAssets folder (in "MyGames") into the Civ Assets folder in the installation directory.

Downloaded and tested BM. :goodjob:
Only minus (but only a very small minus) is that it appears to be much darker than the original settings?
What I mean is that the FOW seems to be almost black - would there be a chance for it to be changed in future?

A very nice mod indeed. I really like the natural look and the game plays smoother as a bonus! Neat stuff and good job!
