I changed the map somewhat again. I added more Territories, and grouped all the islands to existing territories, The new line in northern canada, that chunk of land + all the islands is one territory, seperate of greenland.

umm, the first update, you will get your 10 squares, and your 2 cities, howabout this, I'll just put them in, and if you dont like where they are you can tell me where they go, the FIRST update will just be a random thing to show what I'm all about, I still have some tricks up my sleeve that you guys dont know about

As far as making the map bigger, I've tried to make it bigger, and it doesn't look right. For whatever reason, the thin lines turn into dotted lines, so unless you can do something I can't were sorta stuck. However, I will try to make the maps bigger next time.

hahaha slow down there old friend, I did spend a lot of time, and I have no intention of changing it for someone who isnt even joining, so thats the end of that conversation. FUTURE MAPS WILL BE BIGGER. this arguement is over.

ok, so i'd prefer to write my own orders for my expansion for the first turn. assuming i can do that, what can i actualy do?

can i move that one brigade we all start with to claim squares? if so, are the squares it claims in addition to the default 10 we get for free or inplace of them? or does it have to stay as a garrison in the capitol?
if it can move, how many squares can it claim in the span of a turn? i think it can move 10 squares, does that mean it can claim the 10 it moves through? or only the last one it ends up in?

i'm assuming the country has to be continous (ie all my squares must connect to the capitol via other squares i own) does our "claimed land" have to be in some semblance of a shape?(like something square like or circle like) or can it be a line of quares one square thick?

well, you get 10 squares of expansion auto per turn. You cannot use military to claim untaken lands, for now.

As far as the brigades, you get to move 1 brigade 10 little boxes. That's 10 movments. Every brigade has 10 movement squares, even if they are all together on 1 square.

I wouldn't do the 1 box in a row, simply becuase its hard to defend. but you can really go either way, doesnt matter to me, just know I have a suprise ready, and I wouldn't expand in one line . The only time you cannot be continous, is when your on islands. Then obviously you cannot be continous, for now. When the continent is all carved up, and wars start, I'm expecting to have all sorts of alliances, ROPs, stuff like that, so this rule will be laxed, and your lands do not necessarily need to be all together.

if we only grow 10 squares per turn, and cant speed it up with armies, then it will take a LONG time for our borders to meet in that map.

Roddy, you bring up an extremely great point, and I will change the rules. (didn't i say i would be changin stuff around? ) Along w/the other stuff that i didnt quote.

SO, now, until the board is all divided out, your automatically given 10 Squares, and you may conquer 10 additional squares w/units, since they have 10 movements per turn. This will also speed up the game extremely, so everyone will have to keep up, especially me. Just remember, becuase it's the first turn, and you do not get new units till the END of the turn, you leave your city open, not that it should matter much, but just so you know.

Roddy, you'll have to revamp your orders now, if you want, sorry man.

OK... I know I've been changing around stuff like a crazy madman, but I can't help it this is a brand new concept for everything basically.

THE MAP

I've finally figured out w/my technology to put the grid over the entire map, with some pretty nifty transparency tactics. And also made it bigger for you guys, with bigger boxes to make expansion quicker, easier to see, and easier to update. With the boxes bieng over the entire map, I'm going to allow navy. However, I will be changing unit structure so stay informed on top.
