BN1's Bored Board Nessers

I'm like...6 or 7 seconds from being driven crazy,as to how I should do my orders...Should I do something like
"ORDERS
-Build army in Phoenix
-Move that bastard 10 south
-Expand 10 squares east"??????

I believe you should put numbers on that map...Yes,maybe make **** more complicated...But otherwise how will we know what city we're pumpin out boys at?Does every city pump out a boy each turn?Or can we choose not to?Say we have a huge country and have like...3 southern cities,4 northern ones and 1 kinda to the west...Wouldn't it be hard to decipher "Move all the men from the southern cities to the east and move the northern ones to attack the enemy in the north" and you're thinking..."Hmmm...That 1 kinda west could still be a southern city...Does he want it to be moved east?"

Sorry...My mind's quite boggled by the subject

bugger. i'd PM this, but cant figure out how to include a small bitmap with the orders, so here's my revised orders:

Red squares to be autoassimilated.
Green squares to be taken by the army.

gray circles are locations of new cities.

So that's how you want it done...?You want us to send you pictures...?What if our paint program eats johnson?

Orders PM'ed.

Blue squares- currently owned
Green squares- Auto-expand
Pink squares- Unit annexation
Gray dots- new cities

EDIT: Also, build 1 unit.

ok amon, you can do it one of 2 ways. Give me detailed description like you did, or send a picture, and that picture will be exactly how it goes in. As far as the cities go, Lets stay with the system that I put in here for the first couple turns, and if it doesn't seem to be working, I'll be happy to change it.

You create men At the END of your turn, so technically you dont have 2 men till the end of the turn.

I'm going to have to put numbers of men, and keep track of which guys are in which city to make it easy on everyone. Since you only have one guy, its easy, I'm just putting a slash through the block hes on at the moment.

Since we gain control of twenty squares, we get four new cities, right?

No, and Im seeing a lot of you guys adding 4 new ones in your orders. You get 4 TOTAL cities, that 4 includes your first/capital if you want to call it that. 20/5 = 4. Not 4 all new cities.

Update on Turn 1

Alaska has put up a conquered wall, assuring total control over the alaskan territory.
This turn they produce 4 new brigades.

Jalepeno land has also spread, conquering a good chunk of Greenland.
This turn they produce 4 new brigades.

The Rainmen spread rather unusally, like a fishook of sorts.
This turn they produce 4 new brigades.

woop ass spreads in 2 areas, conquering over 2 territories.
This turn they produce 4 new brigades.

Panama, is the first nation to control a territory by themeselves. They control the panama territory, and almost another.
this turn they produce 4+28 (14*2) brigades

Cuba, almost having the entire carribean in his grasps, controls the cuban Island.
This turn they produce 4 brigades.

Florida, moves south taking all of florida.
This turn they produce 4 brigades.

Empire state blocks out evenly.
This turn they produce 4 brigades.

EDIT: cross posted wit hupdate (oh, cool. just cancel one of my cities then. doesnt matter which.)

still applies though:
we're gonna have a LOT of cities.
with each city needing 5 spaces you can think of a city's "space" as the city itself and teh 4 squares directly ajoining it (forming a cross). so if i spread the cities uniformly then EVERY non city square will BORDER a city. the standard distance between cities becomes a "knight's move" in chess terms (two up, one sideways and the like).

just to be sure. we get 10 automatic squares of expansion and then.....

do we get 10 squares per army (whatever our armies can reach), or do we get just a TOTAL another 10 that we can claim with armies?

no, every *edit* brigade you have can move out 10 squares, thats why i said, expansion will be fast. But with panama, even though hes got a buttload of guys, he has to funnel everyone through his country which sucks, so he won't be getting as much land. But like you roddy, you can send all 5 guys everywhere, and just put your auto expansion around whatever they conquer, so in theory, you could get 60 squares this next turn.

ok i figured out how to manage the brigades on the map. ONE brigade on a tile will be dennoted with a slash, like in the pic. If there is more than 1, like 5 in the pic, then there will be an X with the number of units in the next box. If there is a line of guys, like on a hostile border, your X # will be only in your colors, and his X# will be on his color, and will always be left or right of the box, so theres no confusion.

Just wondering, but are squares that are intersected by a territory's borderline counted as 1 or 2 squares?

a square is a square, no matter what intersects it. only exception is you cant own the ocean.

okie dokie then. not quite 60, but 59 (the army leaving the capitol had to walk through a square i already owned).
with the 21 i had already (1 starting +20 during first turn) that makes 80
which makes for 16 cities.
so on this map,
the red and green are the roads the armies take (hope it makes sense, though of drawing an actual line through the path, but figured it'd make things look wierd).
the light grey squares are the ones i'm spreading into without army support.
the yellow dots are the locations of the 12 new cities
the blue slashes (two dot length) are the ending locations of the 5 armies (one from start and 4 from last turn).

the new city that is just to the right of the islands south of alaska (its the most south new city in a green spot, dont know a better way to expain) is to build a boat instead of an army.

EDIT: i hope i'm right in assuming that there's a army in every city already. cause otherwise i dont see how i could ever have 5 armies (in your example).
tell me if i'm going too fast (meaning if i'm using armies i dont have).

Dark blue sq.- ocean (obviously)
Light blue sq.- Current territory
Green sq.- auto expand
Pink sq.- Unit annexation

Gray slashes- New unit positions
Gray dots- New cities
