BoG 3 - Deity Minus

Yup. It is a bit strange. Know Snaproll had some urgent RL stuff to sort out... not sure about the others.

Anyway, it sounds like this game is really getting going - industrial golden age is going to be great! Can't let that go to waste, so I'll pick it up. Will return soon!

Incase this is still kicking and BOG is checking in:
:bday: [party] :band:

Ok guys. It has been 2 weeks scince I played and no one has picked it up. We are in great shape and I want to continue. We can make this an open SG so someone take it. We are set up nicely.

sorry guys, but im burntout on civ. i plan to play the GOTM each month until october, when i pick up conquests. sorry for my lack of interest.

Sorry, having a few RL issues at the moment - trying to sort out buying my very first house :)

I totally forgot that I had this, however will play it and get it back tomorrow or Thursday morning. Do want to carry this one on as it was getting interesting.... open sounds good to me.

I'm glad you can play. I was about to take another turn. Be careful of the Roman SoD marching home. That must go in the opening battle of the war.

Be sure and count all the time you have to sign or initial the mortgage papers.

You were right. This one is fun :)

850 Pre Turn... Look about.

Upgrade muskets to rifles. Sipahi > front. Change a few hopelessly corrupt towns to 10 turn workers.

Think the romans are too much for us - we don't have enough troops to take down their SoD - which is not ideal. Looking around - we have a tech lead over everyone but the arabs - going to declare on them, and get the rest in on a dogpile. We will lose out on 400gpt from them, but gain back more than that from our golden age. We don't owe give them anything so we should be fine. ROP with Rome means we can get at them.

860AD-1
ROP with Rome - straight.
India Alliance vs Arabs + change > Steam power.
Rome Alliance vs Arabs, 42Gpt, 40 gold, 2 workers for Steam power.
Iroqois Alliance for Ivory.

Hold off on Celts - they have deal expiring next turn - will get more cash.

Expeditionary force of Sipahi sets off.

870AD-2
Electricity to Iroqois for Incense, Wines, 37gpt, 210gold.
Electricity to Celts for alliance, 91gpt, 30gold,

Start stacking workers for faster railing.

880AD-3
Expeditionary force finds an arab SOD near the Romans - lose 1, redline 3 before finally killing something. Golden Age!

Railnet nearing completion.

IT Iron works in Iznik.

890AD-4
Expeditionary force job is done - let the others fight it out!
Worker merges start in bigger cities

IT: Lose a couple of Sipahi to Arab Cav.

900AD-5
Istanbul to size 20 - maximising tiles. India has communism now.

910AD-6
Finish Istanbul - start on Isnik

IT: Research Sci Method. Complete Smiths.

920AD-7
TOE Prebuild due in 5 at Iznik so squeeze in some 4 turn industrialisation research...

IT Reup Spices from India. Give them Iron and get Spices, WM, 11Gpt, 80 gold. Let furs from Iroqois slide - can get back when we sell Sci Method soon. Will space the deals out a little...

930AD-8
Expeditionary force is home.

IT: Rome/Celts sign MPP.

940AD-9
Start working Edrine - have used up all the Egyptian slaves for growth, so now will have to do things the hard way :)

950AD-10
Finishing Edrine - starting on Bursa.

All through I cash rushed, built infra and upgraded our armed forces, built more riflemen, to ensure decent defense in all cities. Nearly completed a military railnet, just a few outlying fishing villages to hook up.

Had a lot of fun with that one... industrial golden age is amazing. Suprised no-one has industrialisation yet - we'll get that next turn and then ToE the turn after. Istanbul was pre-building for Womens sufferage - although Iznik may be quicker - can get the Hoover Dam in one of them.

Was intending to do a mass change over to factories and use the golden age/cash to get them built up.

Hope the war call was OK with you - I thought about it for a long time - the Romans had a huge army and I felt we just wern't quite up to it... yet. If the RNG had been bad we could have lost the second core and some southern cities and had crippling war weariness. Figured that the dogpile on the Arabs would slow them down - also means Rome is doing all the fighting for us. It did cost us a lot of gpt - but we have plenty as it is.

There are a few trading possibilities, we could get 3-400gpt from selling Sci Meth and Electricity... possibly snag communism as well.

Think factories and then mass produced Sipahi/Artillery we can sweep the rest of the continent in a few turns :)

As a final note, I will be away next week. Back on 8th September, might be able to check in, but not certain yet.

Definitely want to finish this game - we should be able to win it from here.

It looks like it is just you and I, TriviAl.

Make a few minor changes to builds. Will start disbanding old units to speed up some buildings.

960AD-1 Industrialization arrives. Thebes temple-->court Erdine cathedral-->factory Usdudar harbor-->factory Aydin cathedral-->factory Bybos harbor-->court Antalya bank-->factory Ankara market--factory Edfu, workers Turned off Science. Communism @2nd from India for Industrial@2+Electricty@4+Ivory+gems+60g. SciMeth@2 to Iriquois for 199GPT+34g. Communism@3 to Celts for 92GPT+65g+furs. SciMeth@3 to India for 53GPT+176g. Electricity to Rome for 43GPT+67g. We now have everyone's money.

970AD-2 ToE arrives with Atomic Theory and Electronics. Iznik starts Hoover. Urfa aqueduct-->factory. Using our GPT for 4 turn research to Rep Parts. Switch Istanbul to Hoovers and Iznic to Universal Suffrage.

Celts start Suffrage.

980AD-3 Izmut colosseum-->factory Sinop market--hospital Salonika bank-->factory

Iriquois and India start Suffrage

990AD-4 Memphis cathedral-->factory Bursa colosseum-->factory Adana bank-->factory Mulga university-->factory Swap Istanbul and Iznik to get Suffrage in 3.

1000AD-5 Zonguldak hospital-->factory Hieraconpolis market-->factory Abyos harbor-->factory

1010AD-6 Pi-Ramesses bank-->factory Kafa cathedral-->factory Needless to say we have FOUR rubber sources. Will go ahead and get Corporation in four also.

1020AD-7 Thebes court-->factory Istanbul Suffrage-->factory Konya bank-->factory El-Amarna market-->factory Buto temple-->factory

India stops fighting Arabia. Get 2GPT more for gems to the Celts.

1030AD-8 Heliopolis court-->factory Edrine factory-->colosseum Byblos court-->factory Avaris harbor-->factory Sinop hospital-->factory Lisht court-->aqueduct Bolu aqueduct-->factory Pithom court-->factory

1040AD-9 Iznik Hoover's-->Factory Izmit factory-->police Rush as many remaining factories as posible now that Hoover's has arrived.

1050AD-10 Most new factory cities are working on police stations now. You have 1246g to rush some more factories. I totally ignored the military this turn. We are by far ahead in techs by at least 3. The workers have railraoded the core cities and have moved to the outer edges. Our military is sitting by Ankara, 15 Sipahi and 1 artillery. We need 9 riflemen for one in each city. I would lay off the research and use the 2002GPT to fill out the infrastructure, or rush to tanks if you prefer.

Your Up!

Looks like just us two then.

Had a busy time at work lately, but picked this up now. Will play over the next couple of days...

I'm think you're quite right about the cash rushing - gut feeling is to go for infrastructure - can get a couple of the big cities to full production/infrastructure then continue with the military buildup... With our production capacity we should be able to roll over the Romans/Arabs with little difficulty...

What sort of victory are you interested in? Think UN would be do-able and fastest... spaceship is definitely possible as well. Reckon Domination would be the most interesting from this position, and gets my vote...

Domination sounds good to me. What I'm leary of is the culture in Arabia. Check out the top cities. We may want to invetigate to see how close they are to 2000K culture. Then again, it is only 1050AD so we have a couple of hundered years to destroy thier core cities.

Sounds good to me...

I'll start building up the military and possibly start on Rome or Arabs if things look right. Wouldn't worry too much about arabia - think they'll be a part of history before long :hammer:

We have Hoovers in place, so should crank out cavarlies rapidly from the core. Will need some artillery will be required to knock down some of the larger cities.

Probably a good time to start on the Navy as well - don't think we have many super productive port cities and we'll need to beachead on the other continent soon.

Will get onto this one tomorrow night - got a company 'team building' evening tonight...
