Breaking News: Plane Crashes into 10 Storey Building in Tehran

My sympathies. :(

It is a pity that countries with so much wealth are ruled by people who invest so unwisely and selfishly. They could have invested the money they have in aeronautics instead of buying golden crappers.

This sucks, i feel sorry for the poor guys families, maybe the Iranian military needs better rules about flying close to citys ect, but anyway its just a accident i dont know why everyone has to turn it into a "Iran Bad" thread these soliders didn't set irans foreign policy so leave them alone. its like blameing the citizens of new orleans or the workers in the WTC for americas policys

(i know americas policys didnt cause a hurricane but the crashing wasnt planed, and i know the 9/11 werent accidents but the victims of all 3 tragedys are innocent)

If it's about the hostages - that's hardly "evil Iran, good US" (more like "evil US, evil Iran" if it has to be characatured at all)...

Evil US? WTH? What did we do that made us evil?

@ Harbinger: the 9/11 terrorists were flying 747's, a little bit bigger. They are also jet powered and nearly full of fuel. And the WTC buildings were a few stories higher too.

American Airlines Flight 11: Boeing 767-223ER
United Airlines Flight 175: Boeing 767-222

Read up on the your history young one, if you think the US (and UK) are blameless in the mess that is now Iran. ;)

Anyway, I wasn't saying it was related to this at all - I was saying that Tank's assertion that "Iran deserves sanctions" was nonsense.

My sympathies to the people in that appartment building, and the C-130

Well he wasn't saying anything about the US (or UK) being blameless (like all the other nations in the world the US is not blameless), he was asking about the US being evil. Two differnt things

OK, I think it's pretty evil to covertly overthrow an government, let alone a democratically elected one. Don't you?

It is amazing that they can still get those C-130's up due to the sanctions. I would have thought that they would have purchased Russian transporters long ago.
The Iranian airforce actually has a lot of US stuff purchased just before the ousting of the Shah. They officially have F-14's too but they haven't flown in years because of the sanctions.

I don't try to remember that day, I try to remember the day after when we sent our armed forces into Afghanistan. I knew it was one of those 747, 767, etc.
