[BtS]40 civs-allows colonies AND 34 civs

I still can't get this to work. I entered the slots for the teams like you said here:
I get the first 18 teams just fine. But where are the others? What am i doing wrong?
I'm trying to modify the 18 civs Earth Map that came with BtS.

you had to edit the TeamID and the Team entries, like i wrote above.

if you cant chosse a new team, maybe you had to fill also the lines in the wb for the team. look at Team=17, it should be filled with some Civ-informations. copy it and change the Team=number and the leadername...

If the other civ slots are pre set and not empty, then you have to add specific civilizations also to the other slots.

I've done that, yet it's not working. The problem is that only those civs in slots 0 - 17 (In other words the first 18) show up. Civs in slots 18 - 33 don't show up at all. It's as if the 40 civ dll is missing or something. Perhaps I should try downloading version 5.0 instead of 6.0 and see if that works.

I'm not sure, but I think the problem is how I installed the mod. I'm thinking I probably didn't install it right, or possibly because of where I put the mod. I have windows xp and it automatically makes it so files are not zipped. When I download mods I usually have to send it to be zipped, and then extract them. I then place the extracted mod into the MOD folder in BtS. I can usually get most mods to work, but I'm just not finding what I'm doing wrong with this one.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing the whole TeamID and civ slots right... but I'll post a file if I still can't get it. I'm using a different computer right now so I can't do it at the moment.

Anyone figured out how to merge the 40 Civs mod with Bug?

I have bug installed into customassets. 40 Civs as a stand alone. Followed the model for Better AI (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=296534) with appropriate adjustments, came up blank.

Also changed the init.xml file for 40 Civs to allow for loading of customassets by setting value to 1.

Whenever I load the 40 Civs mod, Bug unloads for some reason.

Anyone have a step by step for merging?

Thanks J. I appreciate the response.

Gave that a try earlier.

Copied the username/mygames/Beyond the Sword/customassets/config folder in its entirety into username/mygames/Beyond the Sword/MODS/40civs/assets.

Still no luck.

It's the strangest thing, because I totally understand why that should work, it just doesn't.

Does it matter how I load the game? I load the BUG mod on every load, so what I normally do is load the game with BUG, and then load 40Civs from the Custom Mod load within the game, and when I then start a game, no BUG.

On a side note, I've learned a ton trying to solve this problem. :D

Ah, i see the problem: username/mygames/ + username/mygames/.
BUG can only loaded in addition to a mod which is placed in C:\program files\Firaxis Games\Civ4\BtS\mods (or whereever you've installed BtS; this is the standard location).
So copy the 40 civs mod over to this position, then it should work.

I've just started to play bts again, after playing and trying to mod colonization, and this dll is great!!!
I put the dll in order to replace the orginial bts xml and it works fine!
When I start a custom game it's able for to choose 40 civs and even the full-lenght leder names doesn't cause any problems...
I've already had made a world build save with the extra slots and the plus civs, then, when I loaded the wbs, they were able to be choosen even if in the world builder all of them was at the same time in a plot over the atlantic...
The only real problem that I have is that the barbarians were switched by the 19º civ, so I had to erase them all...
So, this is it, Lt. Bob!!!
Obrigado!!!
:goodjob:

do you have 34-40 open or not in use for colonizations?

Yes, for sure... when I'm at custom game options, for example, I can put 40 civs...
The map I saved is with 26 civs in it and now 27, 'cos Bismarck has assumed the japanese cities in Australia... Bismarck just appeared from nothing when Japan was at war in Asia...
The thing is putting the dll file in switch of the original bts file! It's easier and better than any other way...
I'll attach my map to the dll so that you all can see it working!

Excuse me, Lt. Bob, but I'm uploading an example of your DLL, the latest version for BTS patch 3.19...

Here, in this zip you'll have two folders: Assets (with Lt. Bob's 40civs Dll) and Public Maps (with a Pretty Easy's real World Map moddified).

I put 26 millenar civs from the Original BTS in plots where historically they should be if the world was like civilization and civilization was like the world... heheh

It's simple, I know there is a lot of maps like this around civfanatics, but this one is just an example of how the Lt. Bob's Dll can be used...

The only difference from the Original BTS is that you can play with more than 18 civs (obrigado Lt. Bob > :goodjob:) and some names are different too, like Augustus instead of Augustus Caesar and Justinianus instead of Justinian and Japanese Shogunate instead of Japanese Empire, the changes are these among similars...

In order to play, my advice is to unzip the whole archive to the BTS source folder and accept the changes... if you do this, you'll only need to begin a new custom game and see that Lt. Bob's dll is working as well as you'll be able to choose 40 civs... then, if you wanna play my map, where there are, already, 26 civs, you can load it from scenario... it's named Mundi... and I garantee you will have colonies showing up!

Or you can put the content of this zip directly into a mod folder... but you won't be able to play the original BTS with more than 18 civs...

This is it...
Thanks again Lt. Bob...
And I hope I can help, as well as Lt. Bob always have been doing, those who don't get all the stuff yet... as well as myself, heheh...
This zip is like an home work from the studies that I took in this thread... Beginner's Lesson...

É isso,
Obrigado!

I have tried the custom game option, as well, and have gone through and clicked to allow 18 AI players, but then once I have 18, it will not let me add any more. Does it only work on specific map types? I tried on the big and medium map.

I have noticed the same thing. How do you get it to work???

This (Along with every mod that adds over 18 civs to my game) absolutely refuses to work. I have BtS 3.19, and every time I attempt to load it through "Load A Mod", BtS quits, but doesn't start back up. Why?
