[BtS] Amra's Modpack v3 for Beyond the Sword

I prefer the bicolor flags/buttons to the realistic looking ones, and the Italian flag in this game is pretty sweet. Does anyone know how I can extract it from this mod?

Mod looks really great, I got it downloaded and tried to run it but game crashes whenever I attempt to start a map.

I have tried different map settings, used both Play Now and Custom Game, but each time it crashes as the world is being generated.

It may be my system but I would expect to see a Memory Allocation error if that was the case.

Any suggestions?

Amra is unavailable for duty for a while and his mods haven't been updated to BtS patch 3.17 yet:

To update to 3.17 and still be able to play Amra Advance you can do the following:
1- Before installing the patch go to Beyond The Sword folder and rename the Civ4BeyondSword.exe file to any other name keeping the extension. I renamed it to Civ4BeyondSword313.exe.
2- Install the patch normally.
3- Whenever you like to play Amra Advanced start the game using Civ4BeyondSword313.exe rather than the new Civ4BeyondSword.exe that was installed by the patch.
4- You also can create a shortcut that starts the game and load Amra Advanced in one step. To do so just make a copy of the Beyond the Sword shortcut you have on your desktop (installed when you install BTS). Right click this copy and choose properties, In the dialog box you will get on Target tab the text box named target will have the following text or similar "C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe" (quotation marks included). Change this to "C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword313.exe" mod=\Amra Advanced

I've tried this with both Amra Advanced and History in the Making which wasn't updated to work with BTS3.17 as well.

Thanks, but if I already have 3.17 downloaded do I have to uninstall and resinstall the game (or just have a second copy somewhere) and if so where do I get patch 3.13 from?
 
Here's what I did...I patched to 3.17, allowing Amra to take care of his personal issues. However, I then got to wanting to play his awesome mod again, and got a no-cd fix for BTS 3.13. I downloaded the fix, unzipped it to my desktop then changed the name of the cracked .exe to BTS_313.exe, then made a short cut ala the instructions mentioned already, and voila! So, to repeat, you do not need to install another version, just get an old .exe for BTS 3.13, and then make the shortcut to run Amra Advanced, and you're good to go.

Does anybody know how I can get the Sargon and Nebuchadrezzar leaderheads from this mod. I have to use 3.17 BtS for a pitboss game I am in and I really want these leaderheads to use in a game but I can't find them anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find them.
 
I have a question...what of us that bought BTS 3.17 from direct2drive? What files do we need to be able to run this mod...I tried finding a patch from D2D for BTS 3.13, but had no luck. Any help please please?

I really hope you get to see some of the great things people are saying about your mod, and the well wishes they are sending. Me included.

I tried Kalimakhus's little trick and I was able to get your mod to run for 200+ turns before it went south. I was disappointed, but even more, I was impressed. It's probably the best mod I've seen yet, and you should be proud of yourself for what you've made here. When your personal difficulties are resolved, and you finally are able (when you're ready, I should say) to update the mod, I'll be the first in line at Filefront.

Hello, I just wanted to say Seidrik_The_Gray's fix worked for me.
I got a no-cd fix at game copy world.

Anyone know how to make alphabet the technology that allows tech trade rather then guilds? I find in marathon game speeds guilds takes way too long to be researched and hinders how I play.

I tried modifying Civ4TechInfos in C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Amra Advanced\Assets\XML\Technologies
and changed <bTechTrading>0</bTechTrading> to <bTechTrading>1</bTechTrading> under the Alphabet tech but it didn't work. Help please
 
Did you also remove the tech trading ability from Guilds when you did that? I think the game will be confused if two techs allow tech trading.
 
Ya I did. The reason why nothing happened was because I didn't start a new game. Works fine now that I started over. Which sucks because I had a perfect begining :p. Thanks for the reply
 
No problem. Anything to keep this thread alive so that Amra might eventually come back to it. =P
