[BTS] Beginning

The one thing I think could use some adjusting is the city happiness. It seems far to easy for a revolt to start due to citizen unhappiness. I can't build enough temples, Monasteries, Coliseums, etc. to keep them happy.

hey Roamty, great additions for patch .10C. the new naval stuff is fantastic. the one thing that doesnt work is the inquisition stuff. when i try to do an inquisition with the inquisitor it neither works nor uses up the unit. just letting you know.

got a problem, when i start a game with ver.11 the games interface does not come up.

maxbjr and Matey

Ok, I just play and experienced no problems. Just out of curiosity how did you install, this is a clean new version you do not add it to Beginning.10 but install to C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Beginning.11

Just to be sure I will upload a new copy I just play with the copy I downloaded

I did the install like you have listed. It just doesn't create a beginning folder in the mod. I have the beginning configs and read me, but no game.

And your mod looks cool!

nope still doesn't work, crashes when trying to generate map. say CvMainInterface.py screen incorrect, then i get the civ4 bts stopped working.

Ok I back and reloaded the mod, here's the errors I got exactlly as they poped up.

1)

I hope this helps

So let me give a brief summary of my experience with this mod. I thought this was a pretty cool idea, I didn't look into the details a whole bunch, just downloaded it and started playing. On turn two, my warrior was killed by a dragon. A DRAGON??? Why are there dragons in my alternate history game? I fought an incredible urge to simply quit right there, and decided to trudge on. And this is how my game went:

"Your cities are angry, your cities are starting to revolt, your cities are revolting, hey guess what, your cities are revolting. Your cities are still revolting. Nope, they're still revolting. OK now they're back to normal....just kidding, they just took a turn off from revolting, now they are revolting again. Oh look, your cities have broken away from your empire. And guess what, now all of a sudden they form a new nation who automatically declares war on you, hooray! And guess what, they somehow have a much stronger army than you do, joy! Your other cities have formed a revolutionary army and are attacking you. Oh, and somehow their army is much more advanced than yours, even though they are just citizens from your own cities. Oh, and your capital is revolting to. Revolt. Revolt. Revolt. Revolt. Revolt. Revolt. Revolt. Revolt. Revolt. Revolt. Revolt. Revolt. Revolt. Revolt. Revolt. Revolt. Revolt. Quit."

Wow mrhoeivo, you actually got far enough in the game to have cities revolt!!! I still can't get past the first turn, the unit interface still doesn't come up... and yes I've redownloaded and reinstalled mod 3 times now.

maxbjr Just out of curiosity are you patch to BTS 3.13 If you are you just might have a bad install of the game itself you can try and delete the game and reinstall it this has fix problems other people who had problems with other mods when a mod would not work right for them. I also manually deleted in my Documents the folder call My Games when I personal had a problem with one of the mods I downloaded after that I was able to play this problem mod. You can try this it might work for you or it might not just a thought here at my end on how to help you

no to be offensive at all, but the whole point of the addition of civil revolts and revolutions is to stimulate a more realistic play for civ. if you dont keep your cities happy, they revolt, just like they do in real time. I have played all the way through the game, lost some cities due to happiness... but when i was powerful enough i took them back and crushed anyone who defied me!!! buwaaaaaaaahahahah

good luck!

It wasn't a matter of my inability to keep cities happy. My first city that I built revolted maybe 10 or 12 turns after I built it. I only had one farm and one mine built around it. And it kept telling me that the city was revolting, just about every turn. When I built another city, the same exact thing happened. Eventually, one of my cities had turned into a rival civ and declared war on me, the other set up a SoD of revolters that was vastly superior to my entire army, and my capital was revolting as well. So I quit, I certainly wasn't having fun. And no, I don't believe in dragons.

If you do not like Rev look to first post I now have a version without Rev and you can delete dragons they are in ExoticAnimals-0.3 C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Beginning.11\Assets\Modules\Custom Units\ExoticAnimals-0.3
