I don't know if this has been mentioned before but it would be really helpful if there was an option to slightly increase the size of the unit icons. Thanks anyway for your mods.
that's probably possible, but it might blur them and cause different legibility problems. i can investigate when i'm working on the mod again. thanks!
 
D'ohhhhhh! My mistake, thanks for clarification. Intuitively, I guess that didn't dawn on me, as the residents would be upset, not the leader. I'm now looking at a city of Ben's right now, who is still upset at me, and noticed his face isn't angry on the city, so I assume their faces don't change based on relationship?

Random aside, but I really like the banners for the fact that I can tell if an enemy settlement is a city or town(plus it's specialization), I never understood why they took the time to make a "palace" vs. a "city hall" but didn't make towns show a "town hall" instead lol.
heh, i had exactly the same thought about the Town Hall thing. i even considered changing it in Map Trix!

regarding the portraits: they're somewhat simplified from the diplomacy ribbons, only showing "happy" when you're allied and "angry" when you're at war. i figured those were the most relevant states because they affect your movement and interactions with the settlements. and yeah the angry portrait on your own settlements is a bit of a stretch, but it's fun & people mostly seem to like the change.

hm, i specifically designed these banners to harmonize well with Cool UI – that's how the Connections icon fits perfectly between the two progress meters. it must have been disrupted by the patch or by a change to Cool UI. i can take a look to see if i can fix it, but it might require cooperation from @F1rstDan.

huh, i can't reproduce the problem. here i have Cool UI and Sukritact's Simple UI Adjustments enabled alongside Flag Corps. those are the only three mods that i know of that touch this interface. was the previous version of Flag Corps working for you? that part of the stylesheet hasn't changed since version 2.0.0 when i added city banners. the other weird thing is that there isn't any code to hide that background texture so there's no reason it should disappear.

i might need to see your Modding.log and UI.log to figure out what's going on, possibly also a saved game.

Yeah, it's very weird, it was working fine last night, now I can't see those backgrounds. I only updated this mod and Civ7EnhancedTownFocusInfo, but that one doesn't touch it. I even rolled back that one, but still remains. Extremely weird...

does it help if you roll back Flag Corps to the previous version? if so that would narrow things down to just the latest changes

No, I still get this issue. I'll check again tomorrow just in case.

thanks for checking. there are only minor changes between 2.0.0 and the current version, and nothing that affects that specific UI element. there's no obvious reason for it to break if it was working for you before. that specific texture gets used a lot in the UI, so you'd notice if there was something wrong with the game asset. (all of the buttons at the top of the screen use it as a background, for example.)

currently my best guess is that there's something subtle about mod load order that is different on my system. to help rule that out, could you please try disabling everything except Flag Corps? and if that helps, please add things back until you find a specific conflict. looking at your logs might help too, specifically Modding.log and UI.log.

i don't see anything unusual in the logs. the only thing that stands out is that you have a lot of mods that affect saved games, which means that the game will automatically re-enable them if you load an existing game. to get a truly clean run with only Flag Corps, you'd need to disable everything and then start a new game.

if that doesn't help, i'm not sure what else i can do to troubleshoot, except to try out one of your saved games with exactly the same mod loadout on my system, but even that isn't guaranteed to reproduce the problem. the only other thing i can think of right now is a corrupted installation (of the vanilla game or of my mods). you could try verifying game files and doing a full delete & reinstall of the mod.

oh, one other thought: it looks like you have checked the "hide black outlines" config option but left the other options at their defaults. just out of curiosity, could you try flipping the "city banner" config option off & on again? please check the graphics both ways, with styling on and off.

btw does that texture disappear from all city banners or only some of them? if it's partial, that could help point to a cause.

For some reason, it feels that the UI is spawning things out of order. The round background is probably behind the banner, and the black background is spawning on top.

well, that narrows it down to the mod's stylesheet specifically, but unfortunately it still doesn't make any sense. you said that you tried downgrading to the earlier version that worked before, right? it's nice that you have a workaround at least, so that you can use the unit & district fixes, but if this is breaking the mod for you then it's probably affecting other people too. is there anything else unusual about your setup, like multiple screens or ultrawide or other uncommon dimensions? i've tested on 1080HD and 4K.

problem solved: there seems to be a rendering glitch when UI scale is set manually to 150% (and only at exactly 150%). i'm testing some adjustments that might be able to solve the problem from my side, but in the meantime you can work around this by setting UI scaling to literally anything except 150%.

update: i was careful to remove all half-pixel shifts from my styling, and it still breaks at 150% scale, so my guess is that it's a rounding bug in the renderer that i can't completely avoid. luckily, there's an easy workaround.
