[BtS] Dales Combat Mod!

DALE:- Possible bug found...

firstly I'm using HiTM (which includes DCM)..I got CTD when attacking an ai city early on. It seems one of my cats wanted to do "opportunity fire" to an Archer in the ai city, but on the far side of the city, a barb killed the archer "in between turns" as such.

Hence this produced some kind of NULL return and a crash. I'm only surmising this from experimentation (if I move or delete the cats, no CTD). So again as I said, it may be a problem with DCM, it might be something else ;)

Can some people test this new DLL file for the above mentioned bugs?

If all works well, then I'll release it as v1.4 and the source code. :)

Tested through World Builder. I've just started a new game to see how it goes. Guided Missiles now atack correctly when Stack Atack is on. Jet Fighters can now use the Fighter Engagement Mission from Carriers as well.

That's no problem at all. The probs can be animated, the model be replaced...
Just post a link to the B-52 and I will do it for you as fast as possible. But it may last some days. ;)

Thanks for the offer, Thomas SG! I'm working on a cold war mod with different (nuke)bomber typs, so I posted all of them (in order of importance). I don't know how difficult it is, so if it is to much work for you, just the B-52 is also fine. However, all of them would be awesome. Thanks in advance!

What bug with nuke bomber do you mean? Did you try the latest DLL file on the previous page?

It's not a problem of the dll - it's aproblem of the nifs. You are using the jetfighter animations and so your propellers are not animated. I solved the problem by using the bomber animations together with the jetfighter bomb animations. :D

I found these items need completing before a v1.4 release (based on the DLL on the previous page):

- make MHP national not world wonder
- archer bombard feedback
- cleanup unit context for ranged bombard
- concepts in pedia
- bombard feedback fix needed (reads previous bombard)
 
Can Manhattan be a national project instead of a wonder? It's kind of weak for a civ to be unable to construct nukes if it loses the national wonder building....
 
:lol: Okay, I'll repair your bomber. Maybe tomorrow. And I'm no artist too but it seems as if I'm the repair service here at the forum. :p

€: national project would be much better than national wonder! But that will be very difficult I think. I prefer some free a-bombs for the builder from the MHP. That would be easier to do and would make more sence.
 
Actually, it's very easy to do. It's already present in Road to War. I just gotta port it over.

Oh, and that's what the first item on my "to do" list means. National MHP instead of World Wonder. :)
 
World wonder? I thought it was a national wonder in RTW.... I heard that if you tried to make it a National Project (like SDI) just using the XML flags, once one project was built, everyone was able to build nukes anyway.
 
yeah you need special coding to stop that from occurring. Road to War has that code, so I just have to port it across.
 
Not at this point. DCM had it in previous versions, but it wasn't a really asked for or utilised concept. It has it's problems, but it's not impossible. Just there more important things that need fixing (like naval warfare) before MAD. :)

What is your plan, Dale? To release bug fixes, and then work on naval warfare, or to hold on to the whole thing and release a brand new version?
