[BTS] Dragonia II

It would also be a good idea to mention your operating system when/if you have problems. Vista was a PITA with Shadow beta testing, but I'm having no problems with Vista and Dragonia II.
 
Playing on a large pangaea map with standard settings, I don't think I've seen this much war with many other mods. Its now turn 170, and for the last 120 turns or so, there have been about 10-14 wars active every turn. Even with so many wars, there haven't been more than 1-2 reports of a city being captured. Maybe this is because open borders comes fairly far into the tech tree. I got it fairly quickly, but none of the AI's have researched it yet, prefering instead the wonder laden parts of the tech tree.

Also, would you prefer feedback on bugs, such as python errors, or more focus on the game itself (civics, buildings, etc.)

I run a PC with Windows 2000 & a humble half a meg of RAM.

Your feedback on game balance as well as on what you like/dislike will help shape the mod in future iterations. So like to hear both that as well as on what bugs and errors are found.
 
The mercenary system is pretty easy to exploit with a bit of luck. I've been able to get a couple level 8-10 spearmen with city raider, combat, and march promotions by turn 20. Sure you can't afford them for very long, but since there are more civs on the map, meaning closer cities, I've been able to kill off 2-3 neighboring civilizations, keeping their capitals to springboard my expansion.
 
Or even tie the availability of mercenaries to a tech, if that is possible.

I'm pretty sure the insane trait is not working correctly. It says three traits will be generated and switch randomly, but so far when they switch, I still only have one trait.

Pretty sure flaming arrows promotion isn't doing anything.
 
After founding Tel'Seldarine I tried moving the Feywarden I recieved to another city. I recieved several python exceptions. One of them concerning BUILDING_CATHEDRAL locked the game as it won't go away no matter how many times I click the OK button of the message.

Ive got a problem with the mod, it runs and works perfectly only for one thing: the fonts are missing, on the menu, on the game, everywhere, as if the words where completely missing. Can anyone help me out?

turn off your python error popup window in civilization.ini like so:

HidePythonExceptions = 1
This will keep error messages like that from coming up and spoiling your game.

In the future, I think I'll tie the availability of mercenaries to the existence of the mercenary guild. That will be available in the next beta release. Until then, I'll try a few things to try to balance the mercs in the early game.

For insane trait, I'll investigate it closely to double check if it is working or not, and have it show the description properly when you mouseover your flag. If this proves difficult, then it won't be available until the next beta.

As for the flaming arrows promotion, not all the new promotions are working properly yet. Basically if the help description of the promotion is lacking, its probably not completed.

yes, they are both there. I dont think thats the problem since those are icons.

im refering to every letter in the game, from the ones of "new game" on the first screen to the descriptions of the units.

of course it only happens on the mod, on normal civ 4 BTS and other mods, the letters are shown.

I usually keep python exceptions display on as I do a lot of testing of several mods. I can however turn it off when playing Dragonia so that I can move on with the game. Thanks for the answer. Keep up the good work :goodjob:
 
well I posted this on techical support, maybe you have an answer for it; im pretty sure solving that will solve my problem.

I installed the patch with no problems, then loaded the game, but when I check the version it still says "3.0.1.". If I try to reinstall the patch, it says ive got already version 1.3.1. Try to patch again, same result.

Does any of you have a solution or know where the problem can be? When I load for example de MOD Draconia 2, texts are missing, or when I try FfH, it loads perfectly, but crashes when I try to start a new map.

Ive never modified the game files in any way possible, and there are no alternative installations in my computer of CIV4: BTS.
 
done already Darque, or I wouldnt be wasting ur time here.

hmmm looks pretty bad, since you dont know what It can be >_<
