[BTS] Dragonia II

I have seen the preview of yours mod on the homepage of TGM Online, a very important VG Magazine in Italy (so congrats!!!).

I tried to download the file but I have had problems with the RAR archives, many headings are broken. I tried to play but in the Draconia main menù I am unable to see any indication in order to play, only the amazing wallpaper and a mini and empty blu rectangle in the middle of the screen

Someone can help me please?
I'll look into why this occurs in the future...but I think the quick fix is to set your language to English (if you have not already done so).
 
I loaded up a quick game to see if I could replicate the error:
I think I've found the source of errors like that. It should be fixed in the upcoming patch. Until then, if you turn off your python error popup, the error will not bother you.
 
Here are a bunch of errors form my most recent game. the three on the right happened straight after each other from top to bottom and was triggered by an event.

i didnt get the monotheism error again, but it is the same as the ones on the left.

I had 6 civiliazation at war with me by turn 80. it was hillarious :lol: and a little annoying.
 
Speaking of the Holy Mountain, I apparently settled near it, but I don't see it on the map?
 
Its a city on a hill. Thats it. Afaik there is no special symbol.
 
How did you get the Archers to have the Barrage ability? Is it in the XML as a promotion?
 
Is it possible to change siege weapons like catapults to do a similar attack rather then a normal attack? ie Give them a Barrage attack and no strength so they would be captured if attacked and could not attack?
 
Bombard is used to attack city walls; it doesn't damage units. But...it may be possible to change the SDK to allow bombard to damage units as well. I would have to research that.
Barrage on the other hand is controlled entirly by Python, and as such I can allow it to kill units if I want.
 
If you could use a siege weapon and randomly hit a unit in a stack for X numbers of points that would be cool. Can it bypass the best defender and simply strike randomly? If so, then if X>the amount of life left the unit could die. I wouldn't want the unit to be able to select which unit to attack though.
 
So is the idea then is to have a siege barrage that randomly damages 1 unit in the stack? This can be done :)
Should I allow collateral damage to a 2nd unit and have promotions that can increase how many units can be damaged?
And should a siege barrage damage walls?

when you do this, can you make all the siege changes into a single minimod? i want to add it to the WH mod too :D (oh, and the 'Idle' building option)
 
I would have to do the barrage within the Dragonia II spell system. (Its not the same as the FFH2 spell system)

For the Idle building, I think you can create a building with an empty model (but remember to have some sort of button graphics), cost of 0, and set bRepeat to 1.
 
I hope for 3 options with siege craft: The player decides which attack.

1 - Wall barrage - only damages wall like now
2 - Siege barrage - split damage between walls and units inside. Minimal damage to both.
3 - Bombard - go for units only. (Maybe only usuable if city bonus is less than a certain %?). Not sure if this should do collateral, but if it does it should be minor and non-fatal.

Not sure if that makes sense or not.
