not familiar with the nvidia software - im using dxtbmp.



revolution - well i think it will, i wanna change some txt to it, maybe call it rebellion and make some test there more dunish.


i have some good news!

i succesfully removed rivers and lakes from the map!
i took a code from final frontier that refered to it :)
 
That is really good about the lakes and rivers. Completely removed? Is the fresh water removed then completely?

Why I am asking about revolution the era text overlaps the button on me now. I am playing at 1024x768 resolution though.

I particular did not like how the civ buttons came out. I can clean them up if you guys do not know what to do. Nothing wrong with the button themselves just came out blurry.
 
How do you run auto A.I.?

Anyway I'm focusing on testing right now:
1. The techs are too damn cheap, which is a speed issue.. The game is unplayable until the speed is fixed.

OK, I am going to fix the speed balance with a calculator and comparing the files to BTS files. So it will be balanced exactly.
For example: construction, growth, and tech research are supposed to be the same percentage--but military units should cost 2/3 speed of growth for marathon and slower speeds.

So after I fix the speed I will do testing.

yeah i know about the buttons, well, i did my best, i dont think you should devote your time on it, but if you want, that will be nice too.

ctrl+left shift + X - auto ai, also you have alist of key shortcuts in the popup on gamestart.

yeah the speeds are not optimized yet, ill do it later this day, i forgot about this...
but if you beat me to it...then go ahead...its simple formula canculation.

List of Bugs:
1. Victory conditions never get revealed - it remains as "the world is too young to judge"
2. repeated and never ending-- "Area/population exceeds domination limits" error
3. civs do not start with a scout(soldier), except civs that start with the wheel.
4. Game crashes when you exit to main menu.

EDIT: I found the source for most of these bugs-all the bugs listed except the scout bug is caused by the "Mastery Victory" setting.

@Keldath-updated victory conditions without bug. You also made the religious victories too easy.

What the hell is going on with missing scouts at game start???

I'm playing a game right now as Leto II of the Fremen:
2 of the Fremen UU dont do anything different than their replacements.
The wormrider is pretty weak for what its supposed to be---
In the Dune novel, Dr. Kines tells Paul that the worms are extremely tough-
there are no explosives big enough except atomics that can kill a worm.
He says the only way to kill a worm is by atomics or to electricute each segment
of the worm.
Also, the wormrider makes a tank noise when it moves-it is pretty weird-can you change
it so it sounds like infantry instead.

1. im sure i fixed that - see that you have version 0/29 in page 20

2. not sure what that is - make sure to turn off alerts in the bug screen.

3. i know - i think it has somthing to do with the map - ill check it.

4. never ever happened to me - plz elaborate.

write me the unit power that you think is suitable for the worm - but dont overpower it...
ill change the sounds, no prob.


but anyway - how are you enjoying the game so far??

The feature I don't know really. I think it would maybe be good to have more. But I am so clueless to dune really how it should look.
 
yeah, Keldath. I have the latest version-the bugs were caused by the mastery victory.
I deleted that victory from the files and the bugs went away.
It's a little annoying not being able to start with a scout at the beginning of the game, I hope you can fix this.

**I forgot to mention a big bug--you cannot select units in your stack**
 
Civilopedia could be renamed to:
Assassins Handbook
Manual of Muad'Dib
I can look for the names of Irulans other writings. I would stay away from Dune-o-pedia.

EDIT: @Keldath, what about Azhar Book? Not entirely accurate, but it is shorter.

why call it manual of Muad'Dib? It isn't about Muad'Dib.

This is what I suggest for Fremen UU:

Feyadkin replaces Al-Lat (upgrades to nothing) -Feydakin should be able to go toe-to-toe with Saudakar as they do in the book.
Same as Al-Lat except:
strength is 30 and can withdraw from combat (70% chance)

Worm Rider - take away its attack bonuses, make it move 2 instead of 3, and increase strength to 10.

Desert Crawler-same as heavy roller except take away its -20% against scorpions, +25% against scorpions and 2 cargo space.
upgrades to nothing.

i decided to use the snow terrain aswell and make it city foundble,

can you assign resources to appear on it? along witht the appropriate improvements?

ive made some stuff to fix the looks of the map,
fixed the no scout on start, and some other things,

next i wil ltry to make the desert terrain - when it blends with other terrain - to have a distinctive blend - like vanilla white beach betwean cost and land,
so it will be more eye candy.
 
Manual of Muad'Dib was just a suggestion. I wanted to stay away from 'Dune-o-pedia', it just sounds odd.

yeah, I don't know how to do that.

When you fix the stack bug, send me the latest version. The game is unplayable with this bug and I want to do more testing.

Did you do 3 more UU for Fremen yet?

I would give Feydakin and desert crawler to Fremen.
I would give Wormrider to S.T. Fremen.

Give Fremen a new thopter UU or a Infantry UU.
Give S.T. Fremen 2 new infantry UU.

if you need ideas for names, ask me.

i havnt made those yet,
i decided to concentrate on the maps for now and some stuff that really annoyed me.

ok, ill do what you suggested on the coming days.



try to think of civics names - i dont like that we have stuff like barbarism....
after all - this is a total conversion huh?

im testing the ai now, somthing i noticed isnt too good.

Trust me the speeds are mathematically accurate- I did no guess work-
the start may be expensive but it will balance out when you play along.

The stack bug is simple-you cannot select any unit in your stack. The game is pretty much unplayable with this- I would make this your top priority.

also the civic names don't bother me--barbarism sounds like how the harkonnens ruled Arrakis.

humm this is really weird - i have no such problem,
did you turn on the stack attack option by any chance?? if you did - its no good,

try to do this - delete/move your current version from the mods folder,
redownload the link in page 20, open it to you mod folders and play,
i promiss it will work.

i will send you the next version tommorow buddy, thought theres not much difference except some text and small stuff.

something is wrog with the dune map,
it seems the ai wil lonly build 1-2 cities, it just wont go anymore on the other maps, it works just fine, its strange,
ll wait for varus's new version.

i watched the growth a bit - isnt the city gets to 10-15 too fast?

i need to redo the improvement values?
 
There should be a link to the latest download in the first post. There's plenty of information there but no download links that I can find.
