[BtS] "Extra"

That would be nice. Your mod sounds good, I'll give it a try this we. Short question: Is the mod multiplayer-compatible? :)

I just downloaded this mod, and I really like it. This is the first mod that I've tried for Civ4, so I don't have much to compare it to, but it's been a lot of fun so far. I've just got a few thoughts.

The new resources don't gain bonuses from buildings like normal resources do, with the exception of citrus fruit. Many of them are similar enough to existing resources that it should be easy to decide what buildings they should interact with. Would it be possible to see something like this implemented?

I've also felt that there should be more than just two units in the Armor unit type and one unit in the Helicopter unit type. There might be some good units to use for these purposes in the Final Frontier mod. Any chance you'd be willing to add something to the future eras there?

Aside from those thoughts, I've been enjoying greatly so far. Great job Chiyu!

Yes it is, I play it in multiplayer all the time.

You're right about the new resources, I forgot about making them interact with buildings. I'll fix this asap and upload a patch ^^. About the new helicopter or armour units, which do you suggest?
 
I've had some weird grafic glitches after building the assault mechs... sometimes other units are overlayed with the mech even if they're not in the same stack. Even happened with enemy units a couple of times and scared me silly :lol:
 
Hey! I would love to play this mod in MP.. I was wondering where do I find others to play against?
 
The latest version crashes on my computer while loading. After starting to load the mod and waiting a while it shows "Voice MP" or something as the loading status text and then crashes immediately.

I'm running on a Finnish 32-bit Vista. Other mods such as Revolution and RevolutionDCM run just fine.

I've had similar issues with mechs; my favorite glitch is the one where the mech rides a jet figther flying above a city.
 
Sword of Geddon: nope, an earlier version (I think it was 3.13d) worked fine on Vista, later versions haven't. I guess I should've posted right away when I upgraded to a newer version and the new version didn't work a few months back, but I just got so angry at it not working anymore that it probably was for the best that I didn't post in that state of mind.
 
I'm running 3.13j and have noticed that automated fast workers frequently destroy existing improvements (mines, pastures etc.) by building a military encampment, and sometimes build a military encampment instead of the expected improvement (if there are no improvements).

Has anybody else seen this? I'm going to try adding improved formations as a disabled tech and see if that helps.
 
As for the Vista thing... I'm afraid I'm clueless :( I don't even have Vista myself.

As for the encampment thing... The military encampment is a building for your city, not a terrain improvement. Are you sure you're not confusing it with a fort? Automated workers tend to build forts often..
 
Well, the invasion ship would probably work well as a futuristic tank. I was thinking the stealth ship would work as a helicopter, but it really looks more like a stealth bomber. Remembered the design wrong. Not sure what you would use for a futuristic helicopter. Maybe the ship design from the advocates, perhaps?

In regular BTS a resource with a fort on it will count as whatever is needed for a civilization to have access to that resource in your land. So automatic workers will build them over resources outside of a city's workable squares.

Love the mod; I second that it is multiplayer compatible. Used to play it all the time last semester in college... was doing "Political science research on foreign and military affairs". Yes, of course I was.

Hope the Vista problem gets fixed, I'm having to upgrade my OS soon to Vista...
