Cool units. I am interested in the Mil Mi, the Mig, the Zrínyi and the T-55. Are they available as download somewhere on civfanatics? Otherwise is it possible that you upload them as standalone pack and send me the link via pm? This way I could start updating the other mod without waiting for the next version of your VD module. There are so much tanks now that I can't say if I can use them all as I like to keep the default civ4 unit system (for example no footknights etc.)... You said you also plan to add some ships, right? I'd be curious for them as well!

Really nice work, avain!

These are all units modified by me.
Here you are the Mil Mi, the Mig, the Zrínyi and the T-55:

Thank you, avain! I've loaded them :)

Okay... I've added the unit graphics you gave me. Still have to adjust the size, but everything else works perfect. The Zrínyi became a mobile artillery, the t55 is the modern armor for me. That's historically not so correct I'd say, but well. Don't know what sorts of tanks the hungarian army is using currently... However, there is one minor thing: the front cockpit of the Mil Mi seems to be plain blue. In nifskope there are two lines, consisting of several vertices each, that or not connected with each other. I don't know whether it is possible to fix that in nifskope, all I could do is moving the vertices. That means, that even if I would be a good painter, I couldn't fix that. I could import it to 3dsmax, but texturing was never my thing... I also don't know how the textures are treatened in nifs and thus I don't know how to fix that exactly. However, that's just a minor thing. Just mentioning it to find out whether you plan to do something about that or not.

BTW: the bomber and the early aircraft you have postet are both well looking as well. I'd like to use them as well... ;) They are reskins just as the Mig is, right? However, their texture fits to the Turán.

BTW2: The T55 was originally made by snafusmith and you have reskinned it, right? Who made the Mil Mi and the Zrínyi? I am just asking because I'd like to give credits and snafusmith likes it if you tell him that you use his units.

@RPG: thanks!

@cool3a2:
Yes, all are reskins.
Zrinyi is made by snafu (Italian Semovente), the Hind is probably by nautil (?), and modified by The Coyote(?).
About the Hind, yes, I noticed that the cockpit is strange, but I couldn't fix it.
AFAIK, the best armor in the current Hungarian Army is the T-72 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hungarian_Ground_Forces#Armoured_Vehicles_as_of_late_2006)
And finally, the ww2 aircraft you asked for:

Thank you, avain! I have added everything to the mod now :) If you like, just feel free to use some LHs coming with my mods. Better said tell me which you need. As far as I remember all of them have been updated since the leaderhead patch. So, there should be no up-to-date versions of the LHs online.

Maybe I'll take time to fix the cockpit tomorrow. I think I've seen a tutorial with texturing nifs in 3dsmax. I could at least repair the vertices and their connection on the texture. It seems to me like there already is a texture for that part in the dds. I could use that. If that doesn't work, I am optimistic that you will be able to paint something nice. :D

I had an idea which allowed me to do what I desribed without 3dsmax and thus I already finished the work: download.

Those vertices and the connections between them were only shrunken and transformed. The two lines I have seen were the two windows (the windows belong to the same mesh). I solved this by moving around the vertices. If you take a look at the texture in nifskope, you should see two circles or better said circle-like nets. The inner circle is the larger, the outer circle is the smaller window. You may need some time to find out which vertex belongs to which window. However, you could now move them around and add more from the white borders. Besides of that, I found out that the material properties of the windows and the main part were different. The ambient light (the basic enlightment of the surfaces) had different colours. I made them the same and that also helped a bit. However, it is still not perfect. There is still a difference in the enlightment that makes the windows appear lighter. You could try to reduce saturation of the texture of the windows or make it darker. I think it would also a good idea to include a bit of the white border that surounds the blue area on the texture.
I didn't make changes to the *_not_floating.nif. I don't use that. You could simply copy the window mesh if you need that nif. The Gunship_t.nif is the altered nif (t like test, forgot to rename it).

Now I'll take a break and watch news on Duna tv. Hmm... it's already almost over. Did you know that Gyurcsánys english is terrible?

BTW: I guess I could do the changes to the texture by my own, but it takes me some minutes to start BtS because my machine is so slow. Things can look very different in nifskope / sceneviewer then inside the game. I also don't like to try around with this stuff for an hour, I don't have sufficient patience...

Those ships look very good. They remind me on our great naval tradition :goodjob: What are those ships based on? I mean the Szent István can be clearly used as a base of a naval unit graphic, but I can't think of more ships that have something to do with Hungary. Maybe my lack of knowledge... Or are they austro-hungarian ships? However, if you could upload them during this week, I'd be happy :mischief:.

PS: Gyurcsány's Hungarian is equally terrible.
I know. He speaks like a teacher and makes a lot of long breaks in his speechs... And even what he says is nonsense...

It's a Tegetthoff and a Predreadnought, both Austro-Hungarian ships, available if you check Wolfshanze's uploads (GeneralMatt made them)
The battleship is decorated by me (or at least, partially;)).

I'll take a look at the Zrínyi this week, but I can't promise anything.

I already added the Tefetthoff to my mod. I could also search for the small ship, but your battleship looks fantastic...

That's not yet the finished version, but I didn't plan to make any more changes to the tower itself if you are satisfied with it. So, does that meet your demands?

Now, I'll try to add the additional part you have mentioned in your pm.

Just one thing: the cross looks distorted on my version. I checked this and recognized that it has been this way in the original file you gave me as well, so this has not been caused by my changes. On your screeny the cross looks as it should. Have you accidently send me an old version? However, maybe you have only changed the texture itself. Then it should work if you replace the dds, but it would be kind if you could send me that dds then. :)

Looks great, excelllent!!!! :goodjob:
Yes, I modified the texture after I uploaded it here, I will provide you with the new one.
(The one you have I thought is a good idea, it has some hammer and shovel in front of the cross, but then I ditched it)

I have added the part:
3323038032_8000f3297a_o.jpg

It's not a daVinci, but anyways. I think I'll play around with it. Most probably I'll enlarge it. I think I'll also shorten the barrel a bit.

Thanks God you gave me a tank with only two bones to fix. At first I thought there will be problems, because normally a tanks tower rotates (I didn't consider that the tower of a Zrínyi is fixed) and I think it can then cause problems to move the tower as this wouldn't have moved the rotation center. In other words this would have ended in a buggy animation... This way I didn't encounter any problems. However, it would be a good idea to check as much animations as possible after I handed the nif over to you. So, try driving around with the unit, bombing cities (if you use it as mobile artillery, too) and attacking other units etc.
