[BtS] Hungary mod for Varietas Delectat

no problem. I was just wondering why I was pestered with the request (not you but cool3a2)and then it went no where.

You can be sure that cool3a2 will include it in his mod, because it's a separate one - it seems we have quite a lot of Hungary mods for such a small country, but I wanted to do my version (which is compatible with VD)...

Wow, amazingly gorgeous units. Wow.

Thanks, this is state of the art art that I'm capable of  Wanted to make them as historical as I could...
Also, quite a few of the greatest unit makers contributed, or I chose to modify their units, so kudos to them!

I also hope that you really did not take offence at what I said. I'm still amazed by the leaderheads such as Idi Amin, Cleopatra or Constantine the Great you made, because they could have been shipped with the game itself. I just think Kossuth did not turn out to be a Kossuth (to me)...

Wow. Just WOW.

I especially like the musketman, that's my favorite. But also the swordsmen! Congratulations!!!

So, if I am not installing MEE (which I would prefer not to), then the unit we talked about, what will it be? (I can't try it now.)

Unfortunately then it's not available. But if you like, you can easily modify how the units are used, the ART_DEF is intact.

Hey avain! I got your pm. Thank you for informing me. Well, I'll see what's new with your unit (heavy swordsman). Actually I already started to replace the shield... I guess I have to do this again... I am glad to see that you have used my honved style rifleman as well. And Ekmek: I'll promise you that your Kossuth will be in the next version of my / kabcsis mod. I already made his hair a bit brown and have replaced the backgorund, so it will be definatly in. I am only waiting for Zerver, because he is working on some promising stuff. Besides this I have some real-life-stress. I hope I can post a new version of my mod on the weekend. A request to all Hungarians out there: I'd like to make unique diplomacy texts for the hungarian leaders. For this I could really need some help. No experience in modding needed. Only tell me what those leaders might say in which situation. Or at least tell me some citations. You can do this by send me a pm or by post in the other thread. Do not post it here! This is avains mod, we'll keep his thread clean!

On the heavy swordsman I just lightened the texture of the robe a bit, so nothing major...

Sounds good, I would in fact do that. But how exactly? Is there some description out there on how to do this? Or some pointers maybe? I'm extremely far from being a modder.

In fact, I've had one success with "modding": I replaced the flag used here with a 2-color double cross to suit my taste. :-)

You could try this tutorial: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=139721

Also, can you please send me that flag you are using? Thanks in advance!

Hi, here it is. I simply overwrote the corresponding files in your mod.

I took this from Symbols of the World v1.0!

I personally think that this looks much better, because it looks just like the flags of all the other civs in the vanilla game.

(It had been suggested back a while ago for the other Hungary mod to use this flag, but apparently the mod makers there preferred the colorful flag.)

Cool flag! :goodjob: I personally prefer real flags, but then you have to make the rest of the flags match.
I really have to remake that modern asian worker near the bottom. :vomit:

Hi, i have made some minor changes to your <*GameText.xml> files. Obviously there's no gameplay affection, just "friendlier" texts.. ;)

First of all i have inserted the italian Civilopedia descriptions, if anyone is interested.. :)

Here is the list of other changes:

Spoiler :
1) In all the <*GameText.xml> files, i have translated the names of the buildings/leaders in the relative languages.

2) In <HungParl_CIV4GameText.xml> (The Hungarian Parliament), i have inserted the 'Strategy' texts (in english for every language except Italian).

3) In <HungParl_CIV4GameText.xml> again, for all languages i have substitueted the Pedia entry describing the Versailles with the english correct text («Budapest was united from [..]»). Then, as said, i have translated it in italian in the <italian> tag.

4) In <Solyom_CIV4GameText.xml> (László Sólyom) there was no tags for other languages. Without those tags, there are problems switching among languages in the Options menu. Then i have inserted the 'Pedia' texts (in english for every language except Italian).

5) In <Stephen_CIV4GameText.xml> (Szent István), i have changed the character "Š" with the relative ASCII code (138) because the character is not properly visualized in the Civilopedia.

6) I have re-edited <magyar_theme.mp3> (ok, it's not a text!), because yours appears to me having the beginning cutted.
