[BtS MOD] Wolfshanze 1850-1920 Enhancement Mod v2.0

Gee... and after all this time and all the responses and downloads, I thought people were actually playing the Wolfshanze Mod.

It would seem nobody is... because if von Krysiak and Wodan were playing the Wolfshanze Mod, they'd both know that I do use a Liberty Ship for the standard Civ4 transport in the Wolfshanze Mod!

Ha. Yes, I'm into my second game now. Anyway, I'm not in the modern era at the moment, and didn't take the trouble to look, and just assumed since you guys were talking about the "default" transport graphic model, that you hadn't changed it. Sorry about that!

Actually, as-of this moment, I'm not planning on any immediate updates/new versions. The commerce raider idea is intriguing, but it's not something I'm commited to... and if I added a new unit class, it would trash saved-game compatability as well.

At the moment, v2.6 is and will be the version for now... unless a bug crops-up or a slew of great new models get released.

Not to say there won't be any newer versions... just not planning on any in the immediate (next week or so) future.
 
Wolfshanze you made an incredible mod.

If i want to play the 34 civ earth map i immeditely lose the game. Am i missing something? I searched the forum but could't find an answer.

As for the 34-civ scenario, please be more specific... explain exactly what is happening, who you are playing as what version of the mod you are using, and what/when is causing the problem (be as specific as you can).

I try to start a cutem scenario 34 civ earth map from version 2.6. I choose the dutch as my civ. Than the game loads and when i see the opening screen it immediately says i have been defeated. This aslo happen with the 33 civ eath map scenario.

A normal custem game however works just fine but than i play with 12 civs.

Thanks... I'll check it out when I get home... might be something specific about the Dutch... try with another civ... maybe the Germans and see if you have the same problem or not.
 
Niels251... I can't duplicate your error on this end... I tried the 34 player game as the Dutch and had no problem what-so-ever (other then being sandwhiched between the French, Germans and Vikings). Have you installed this version of the mod on-top-of a previous version of the mod?

Perhaps deleting the entire Wolfshanze Mod folder and reinstalling v2.6 might help... especially if you just installed this on top of a previous version (not sure if that's your problem or not). It's hard for me to fix a problem if I can't duplicate it on my end though. :dunno:

What about Torpedo Boats?
The only new naval unit I'm considering at this time would be a commerce raider, though I haven't commited to that either. If I were to add another Pre or Dreadnought era vessel, it would probably be an armored cruiser, but I'm pretty happy with the number of naval units right now... so it's not top on my list of things to do.
 
First of: Thanks for the effort you put into the Mod ...

But one question: Is there any "Age of Imperialism" Scenario planned for this mod? Because it would be, I think, the ideal platform for such a scenario (something like the "Earth 1862 AD" by Lokolus).

Well actually I have an almost complete one I did a long time ago, not on the Wolfshanze mod though, but with many of the similar units. The Tech tree from the Industrial age on is different. I was going to upload a version for maybe someone to play around with, but it was over 10 mb's and you cannot upload that big here..

Anyways, I have got to try this Wolfshanze, I just hope it will work, last time it kept crashing randomly..

I think that was due to a buggy LtBob DLL which has since been replaced... Haven't heard any CTD complaints since switching to the more current DLL.

Should run fine for you Matt.

Hi Wolfshanze mods great to play. I was wondering if you could add a national wonder or two to the mod such as Admiralty building reduced maintainance on capital ships Ships of the line through to battleships -1 pop count in coastal towns (press gangs) or something like it say from chemistry onwards.
S.A.C. Free bomber unit in all airports + some type of drawback ? noise pollution maybe Starts from Air Suporority pay back for some early rushes from the nutjobs Maybe World Wonder MAC lift able to airlift units a time from advanced flight.won 1st diplo Vic using mod today all over 1910 big over horizon threat from big fleet. cheers
 
Wolfshanze i was indeed using version 2.5. Stupid me. I did tested with germany in 2.5 and that worked. Right now i'm downloading the new version.

FYI... the next version of the mod I'll be changing-out Civilizations... at least in-name... the Holy Roman Empire under Charlemagne will become the Austrian Empire under Francis I. New Austrian double-headed eagle flag will accompany the change (thanks Mamba), along with appropriate civilopedia and city name updates.

Frankly, I got sick and tired of custom-naming my German cities, only to stumble upon the Holy Roman Empire sporting a bunch of my German cities. To me it was like having two Germany's in the game... and one of them had to go.... the Austrian Empire made the logical choice as nation to change the HRE to, as it was the successor empire to the HRE and even used the same Emperor (Francis I).

For those who really liked the HRE, sorry... but this is still "my vision" of the game, and the HRE has been ticking me off for some time, stealing all my German city names.

The nation slot will still play the same, with the same UU, UB and leader traits... just with a cooler flag and nation name!

The changes are already done... just a matter of deciding when to upload... in theory it should play nice with v2.6 saves (though the name changes may not take place until you start a new game).
 
Ok It was a busy weekend, finished my first two campaigns on 2.6 (epic huge world) and one shorter multiplayer game, opinions below.

Played as Hirohito/De Gaulle/Hitler all three nations have beatiful units and gameplay is just amazing! I only regret that French tank FT-17 is present for such a short period of time before getting replaced by Renault 35 :crazyeye:
New units add so much to the gameplay in the modern era that in my future games I will play with both domination and space race disabled to enjoy modern warfare more. AI builds a nice match of modern naval units so it is fun to play on maps with a lot of water. Last nite my two battleships were chasing some Liberty cargos guarded by a lone drednaught and both got bombed(light bomber)/torpedoed before reaching the target hehe :sad:
Game crashed without known reason once in my Japanese campaign and it was a pain, besides that the event Atilla the Hun crashes the game as well. No other bugs found.
Now getting back to the subject of Commerce Raider - I would imagine it could like along the lines of protected cruiser which would be perfect for the job!

Hi Wolfshanze with version 2.6 no problems. I started out as the dutch on the 34 civ earth map. My warrior started in scandinavia and my settler in denmark(you probably placed it there becuase of the space) and i met the zulu's there instead of the Vikings. Well eliminated them with my sole warrior. Why is shaka in scandinavia? The civs are nicely in place and placed correct on the earth map.

Well right now i'm going to build an armie an exterminate the germans. Really nice mod!!!

I haven`t read the entire long thread, but I noticed at the start someone was complaining that SS long black trench-coat uniforms were more `realistic`. Well I hoped you kept the camouflage SS as that`s the realistic look they used in WWII combat. No one would go to battle in broad daylight in full black. But history shows how they were anyway. Anyone who doubts just needs to read a books or 2 with photos.
 
I like the change as well. There are plenty of Austrian flavor units as well. Might even be some in the old Civ 4 Napoleon scenario.
