[BtS MOD] Wolfshanze 1850-1920 Enhancement Mod v2.0

OK I have been fooling around with it and this is what I did, If I extract 2.70 over 2.69 it goes along fine until I get a "Wolfshanze FPK is password protected" I skip the file and it continues to install. But when you start the game the flags are all blank colors and the active unit has three big red dots underneath it. Then if you try to extract 2.70 again you get the error message. So is there a password I can enter?? Any help?
 
I keep getting an "error reading file" message everytime I try to extract the 2.70 zip file into the mod folder :( Not sure why every other upgrade has extracted just fine. I even erased the whole mod and started all over again several times to make sure. There seems to be a problem with the zip file.

I really love this mod and its killing me I can't play!!!
My last update to v2.70 is corrupted... it's re-uploading now... should be ready within the hour. Sorry for the confusion... I shouldn't have uploaded the last update from my wife's computer! ;)

When installing, you need to delete the old Wolfshanze Mod folder and install this mod fresh... I'll post again when the new upload is ready.

I did download the new upload and extract it... everything checks-out, so it should be all golden now... if you experienced any problems with a previous download, please re-download... its all good now! :thumbsup:

Did you add something from the original 2.70 in the re-upload?
Mine uploaded fine, so wondering if I have to dl again.
 
The only change/update to v2.7 was a fix for the Japanese General "face-glow" issue (depending on when you downloaded v2.7). See the 1st post of this thread for more details, but there is a small (200kb) fix for the issue if you don't want to redownload the whole thing (once again, see 1st post for details). Any version of v2.7 plays the same... the only issue being the Jap General face-glow.

No-no... if you download now, you're done... Jap General fix is only for the first 90 downloaders of the mod... the current full download is fully up-to-date.

Ugh.... there's a CTD bug concerning the Polish Heavy Hussar... it's in-game, it shows-up fine, the AI can use it... but you get a CTD if a human player tries to build it (select in city build screen).

There's a quick fix here:
I'm tired of patches and fixes and what-not... I'm going to re-upload the whole darn thing (and then some extra changes) and release v2.71 tonight...

But in the meantime... if you're playing as Poland, go to your Civ4ArtDefines_Unit.xml file and search for this line:

<Button>,Art/Interface/Buttons/Units/PolishHussar.dds</Button>

Change it to read this:

<Button>Art/Interface/Buttons/Units/PolishHussar.dds</Button>

In other words, remove the comma, solve the crash.

I will upload a v2.71 with a few extra things later tonight... it will be fully compatible with v2.70 saves.

Okay folks... this wasn't intentional, but it was both needed for fixes and clarification.

I wanted to sit back and relax after releasing v2.70, but little bugs, errors and minor fixes kept popping up, so instead of confusing everybody with little fixes to v2.70 (and folks wondering which version of 2.70 they had), I'm just cleaning the slate and releasing v2.71... essentially a "cleaned-up" v2.70.

I'm hoping this does it for awhile... there's been three or four little bugs pop up after the release of v2.70, and this should squash them all. I also took the opportunity to add a couple of new models in the process.

This version is DEFINATELY compatible with v2.70 saved games... so if you started any games, feel free to use those in this new version.

I have found a very (very) minor bug, but needs to get fixed and is easy enough for anyone to do on their end without having to download anything...

The Heavy Hussar for Poland slipped through on a minor issue... its tech requirement 'to build' is wrong... not equal to other Hussar/Cuirassier units...

Anyone wanting to fix this will need to open-up the Civ4UnitInfos.xml in the Wolfshanze Mod (Assets/XML/Units folder) and change the following line underneath the Heavy Hussar for Poland unit (anyone can do this using Windows WordPad):

This will be officially fixed in the next release (no-timetable at all), but for now, it's easy enough for anyone to fix on their end with little fuss.
 
Not sure if other folks have this problem even with v2.70, and no custom DLL. Running Vista btw, if it's unique to that. Still get CTDs quite frequently from about 1100 AD on. Latest one was in trying to talk to that bastard Monte. Clicked on his name, and CTD before the leaderhead appeared. Usually they happen between turns, which also could just be when other people decide to talk to me. I absolutely love your mod, but it's just so frustrating with the CTDs, have yet to finish a game.

Please list your system specs, and also which nations are in your game... is Poland one of them? There were some CTD issues with Poland in v2.70 which should be fixed in v2.71.
 
I haven't tried this mod yet. Can I ask a question about the Russians? Did you give the Russians Mig-21 as an early jet fighter in the mod?

There's certain aircraft time periods in this mod, but I didn't go overboard making a bunch of new eras or extra aircraft.

In this mod, each nation gets ONE of the following types of aircraft:

WWI: Airship, Early Fighter, Early Bomber
WWII: Fighter, Light Bomber, Bomber
Modern: Jet Fighter, Jet Bomber, Stealth Bomber

Having said that, the Russians get the Mig-25 for their jet aircraft, and the Mig-21 is well-represented by many "Soviet Block" nations. It's hard to settle on "just one" aircraft for such a large time period... I just chose the Mig-25 'just-cuz'... no particular reason.

I do vary the aircraft of the jet age from nation to nation... some countries have F4s or F5s or F16s or Mig-21s or Mirage-2000s, etc, etc, etc.
 
Thanks for your reply, make sense. Well, lets say if I wish to make already existing Mig-21 in this mod (from other civilizations), into a modern jet for the Russians, where in the folder can I find it and assign as a Russian modern jet fighter?

There's a "Team Mig-21" already in the mod (the markings on the aircraft just become the team-color of whichever civ it belongs too... ie: red for the Russians, Gold for the Egyptians)...

So if you want to use the Mig-21 for Russia, you only need to change one entry in the XML... go to the Assets/XML/Civilizations folder and open-up the "Civ4UnitArtStyleTypeInfos.xml" in Wordpad (or any other XML editor).

The Russians are the first entry in the XML file... find this:

Why not the Su-35? Russia is the only nation flying that aircraft, compared to the 10 that use(d) the MiG-25.

No rhyme or reason Xeno... I'm not justifying anything... I just kinda liked the Mig-25 and gave it to Russia... in my mod, they're the only nation that fly it... I realize I could have done that with damn-near any jet that came to mind... too many to choose from, I just went Mig-25.

Besides, nobody has made a Civ4 model for this Russian MiG fighter yet...
