[BtS MOD] Wolfshanze 1850-1920 Enhancement Mod v2.0

Yes, I have requested repeatedly that somebody take the B-29 and match it with the nuclear explosion. It's only appropriate, since the earliest nuclear-capable bombers (both Russian and U.S.) were B-29s.

Hey that sounds familiar.. :mischief: I'm not quite sure how to change the effects/animations though.. there might be a tutorial for that now I think... :p:confused:
 
I can't correlate some of the units in here to the buttons. What are the button names for the early tank, heavy cruiser, and liberty ships?

MarkV, Brooklyn & Liberty... though if there is a national flavor tank (like the Early Tanks), there's more then one button based on which nation has what tank... MarkV is the default icon, but there are others (mostly FT17 and A7V).

I'm depressed... nobody has mentioned how "super-cool" my new button is for the "FLIGHT" tech in the mod... I never did like the first flight tech you get (which unlocks WWI aircraft) shows the picture of a modern jet airliner on a big paved airport runway... so I made a new custom button for flight!

Okay, I'm really just bored, but I thought I'd stir the pot! :lol:
 
I just had a crash with this mod (version 2.66).

While searchinf trough files i found this file:

PS: the crash is repeatable and i have the savegame file if you need it.
 
Huh? Can you tell me everything about your crash? Who were you playing as (what civ), when in the game did it occur, how did it occur, does it always occur when something happens (a certain move or tech being researched), did you try restoring from a previous save-game, system specs, etc, etc.

Everything you can tell me about the problem helps me figure out if there is a problem and how I can install it... what you posted doesn't really tell me much.

Sometimes save-games just get corrupted... a good thing to do when having a crash is restore a previous save-game and see if the problem reoccurs at the same point or not.
 
I tried restoring from the last save game and it crashed again; i saved the savegame thinking you might need it; PM me an mail address and i'll mail it to you.

It happened 3 times now in two different games. This is the ony time i was able to reproduce it, the first two times i simply restarted a new game.

This crash happened pretty early into the game, archers were my toughest unit. The other two crashes happened much later, one of them in early industrial ages and one of them in pre-industrial (no relation there).

I would give you more details but it's kinda pointless. I'll just mail you the savegame and we'll pick up from here. I just hit the end of turn button 2-3 times after loading the game and there it is.
 
Wolf, the submarine line is pretty tight. It goes directly from post WWI/pre WW2 subs to Late 20th century nuclear subs. Is this intended (as in is that pretty historically accurate) or are you just lacking Mid 20th Century submarine models?
 
Oh Nicky... what version of the Wolfshanze Mod are you using (pretty important question).

Phungus... I'm essentially modeling Diesel/Electric Subs and Nuclear Subs in Civ4... I'm not breaking it down into "pre-WWI Diesel/Electric Subs", "WWI Diesel/Electric Subs", "WW2 Diesel/Electric Subs", "1950s Diesel/Electric Subs", "Nuclear Subs".

One must remember that Civ4 is an abstract game... I don't personally see a need (or space on the combat scale) to distinguish 3 or 4 levels of Diesel/Electric Subs, so I have one that represents the entire class. It's like someone saying "why don't you have 1600s frigates, 1700s frigates and 1800s frigates represented". There's just one frigate for hundreds of years, I think it's okay to have one class of subs for Diesel/Electrics over the course of about 50 years.

Nice point. Also , wasn't there something in Keal's thread about modding BTS that said it was possible to change the appearence of a unit with promotions?
Possibly a whole mod could be made with promotions an integral part of the development of units. - promotions bought with gold ,as in Fuch's 'Bitter Future' mod

It's also possible to change combat animations depending on promotions.

Are you planning any changes to the tech tree?
Not to the tech tree itself... will probably slide back the heavy cruiser and destroyer to the same spot as the battleship though... give the WWI units a bit more breathing room.

The only tech tree change/addition has been the addition of "Air Superiority".
